Not really.

This is the start of an interesting thread, as with everything Israel/Palestine related, no way to know the truth. Can't see an unroll at present.

Includes the line "The security establishment is desperate to wipe the stain of 7 October but has yet to kill more Hamas commanders than UN staff."
That much is almost certainly true.

On balance, you were correct not to be excited.

So after going through both papers on the reforms to sickness and disability benefits here's the long and short of it. If you're an existing claimant and can hang on to your claim until 2025 the proposals look surprisingly decent. Everyone else is fucked.

For example from 2025 there will be no way to claim sickness benefit for mental health problems unless you can provide medical evidence that you're suffering from psychotic episodes. All other mental health conditions will be disregarded because they've tightened up the 'substantial risk' qualifying descriptor on which almost all mental health claims are based. It's obscene.

There have been noises from Labour saying they wouldn't implement such a change and you'd like to think Labour wouldn't be party to leaving the mentally ill to fend for themselves but we've barely heard a peep from the vapid clown Starmer put in shadow work and pensions so to say my expectations are low is a considerable understatement.

Sure Dan. Anyone with functioning ears can hear someone saying 'shithole', it might not be Cleverly but one of them said it.

Blame the TV debates, which they have long seemed to take far more seriously than they probably should.
