Good evening.
I think I've done pretty well all things considered - decorations up, food bought, presents all wrapped, and the kids are home.
And the Home Secretary is making jokes about date rape drugs...oh dear.

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Just watched Chicken Run 2 - described as "Poultry in Motion" by Animation Magazine.
https://www.animationmagazine.net/2023/ ... he-nugget/
Seriously beyond capitalism:
"The output of animation (per animator) was around one second each day, with 40 seconds taking roughly 18 weeks. A single puppet took between 30-50 weeks for a crew to work on."

Re: Christmas week 23-29 December 2023
I am curious to understand the proportion of rational to not-so-rational individuals. Prior to Brexit I'd assumed humanity on balance had a degree of rationality. Given multiple events since then, I no longer hold this view.

Then again, some disciplines give "rational" such negative, self-serving definitions, no wonder we're confused.

Good to see Labour are taking a stand against the Tory policy of dehumanising migrants and trying to ship them out of the country...wait, no. They've just decided to do it somewhere other than Rwanda
Re: Christmas week 23-29 December 2023
Truly, the scourge of this country that is the root of everyone's problems

Look at this absolutely terrible excuse of a human being, going around being all generous and helpful

Re: Christmas week 23-29 December 2023
Just on a point of fact, processing asylum seekers claims in a third country is *not* what the Rwanda scheme is actually about - and it is remarkable how many in all sides of politics and the media don't realise it. Why do you think it has repeatedly failed legal challenges?
One reason is that it involves people being sent there never to return - even *if* their claims are successful.

You obviously have no idea that in several big cities, it *is* a real problem. And all linked to Tory corruption and cronyism.

Derbyshire put in her place .
Isn't she supposed to be better than Fiona Bruce , or is this particular subject a cause for deep anxiety over what LFI BoD could do to her .... if they are displeased ?

I mean, she *is* better than Bruce - clearly so. But that is also an extremely low bar.

Re: Christmas week 23-29 December 2023
Good morning.
Hope everyone had a good Christmas. Best wishes to Roger and his family, I hope they were able to enjoy time together and recall happier times.
I've not been around much because I'm having cataract surgery, left eye done and the right one next week, so my vision isn't very satisfactory and screen time limited.
These came up next to each other on my twitter feed, basically saying the same thing on entirely different subjects.

Ultimately, the modern Tory party wants power without responsibility.
Or to put it another way, it wants the trappings of power without actually having to govern.

"the prerogative of the harlot through the ages"
Whatever our poor opinion of the current Labour leadership, might be reasonable to assume they will actually pull a few levers, and of course be castigated for it by the Tories. Whether we'll think they're the right levers, time will tell.
