Morning refit

I remember in 1991 reading an article** about young people of different ethnic identities sitting around outside a café , discussing politics and dismissing the idea that there could be dangerous times ahead . After all there had been a lot of intermarriage and friendships between their groups .

Dame Anne Salmond: How to split a society
" Thirty years ago, in 1993, I attended a conference at Oxford which included a workshop on what was happening in Bosnia, where war had just broken out.

Young anthropologists who had been conducting their field work in that country described how a society in which many Serbs and Croats thought they had solved their historical differences was deliberately split apart. "

** It was probably in the Economist , which I always read in those days, and the place was Sarajevo .

Manufacturing dissent, 'pernicious polarisation', is surprisingly easy when the times are ripe for it, and the evil weasels go to work .

Now we have Deep-Fakes it's even easier !

Don't forget, all of this noise for the sake of deporting a few hundred people to a failing state ....

So, what's the point of voting Labour, if you're LGBTQ?

Here you go, from the source:

This is either a dog-whistle or actively courting the right. The majority of women in the country (both LGBTQ and straight) support trans rights.

So its actually an attempt at a "middle ground" policy, whatever your spin on it.

No, it's a promise to make life harder for trans people. It's a promise for women who don't fully conform to social standards of femininity to be harassed when they try to use the toilet.

Also, if Labour proceed with people having to use the toilet that matches their gender at birth, then these people will be using the Ladies. Will women feel 'safer' then?
