Have gone down with a bad cold - at least, I hope that is all it is. Bah.

You have my sympathies. I'm just coming to the end of one. Spent the better part of a week, with a nose like a leaky tap.

Something to cheer you up. It might not be one of the Royal Navy's finest hours, but it's one of twitter's. The replies

eg
Unfortunately the Captain received different orders from each of the four Secretaries of State for Defence.
Didn't we have a lovely time the day we dented Bangor...

@ Sky -- thanks for the QT Report !

" Emily Thornberry was her usual pugnacious self and even indulged in some comedy when explaining that Starmer would be the perfect leader to stand up to Trump because of his honesty and integrity."

I'd been wondering if she was still alive after selling her soul to the BoD .

Meanwhile, in the real world Russia can't even invade Moldova.

It's a bit windy.

My dumbass friend from Calderdale came over against my advice and has now left early because it's getting so bad he's worried about getting home.

The Russians have been celebrating today after taking a 'town' that once had a population of 35 and now has the shells of three houses remaining. The Ukrainians reckon it cost the Russians 7500 troops. Even if you half that estimate it still sounds insane until you watch the footage of what the Russians have been doing attempting to capture Avdiivka. Fields covered in corpses and burned out vehicles as far as the eye can see. It's like something from the first world war being filmed, and perpetrated, by 21st century technology.

If there's one thing this conflict has shown us it's that a £500 drone with explosives attached can take out just about anything if you know what you're doing but if you can't afford them or produce them, mass assaults by poorly trained and ill equipped humans are a cheaper alternative option if you're Russian.

I've seen a few videos recently of Russian psycho's mouthing off about killing and torturing Ukrainians alongside videos of Russians teenagers attacking immigrants.

Let's not demonise them all though eh?

Just this week I watched Conservative members of parliament in this very country having a circle jerk during the Rwanda bill debate where they egged each other on about young men of 'military age'* who 'could be criminals or rapists'.

So let's not get all holier than thou.

*When Thatcher destroyed the economy of the North of England resulting in my Dad (of military age) having to do an Auf Wiedersehen Pet did he take my Mum and me and my brother with him? No of course not. He worked and sent the money home. Well at least what was left after a lavish beer allowance. He was an economic migrant in Germany, Switzerland, even Estonia. A scab breaking strikes by accepting less pay than the locals. Not because he was unsympathetic to their concerns but because back home there was no work and we needed the money.

The Tories seem to have written this out of their history.

It's getting even windier.

Also just saying I thought I had a shitty cold until my Dad's friend called me just before I was about to walk into a nursing home to say he'd tested positive for Covid. I knew something was up because I'd hardly produced any snot. It was like a cold but dry if you know what I mean.

Anyway after hearing the sound of some weird yelping in apparent pain above the wind I pointed my torch out the window and for the second year running witnessed fox sex.
