So some of the most racist comments you will ever hear, are not actually racist according to senior Tories. Gaslighting, much?

We'll see about Abbott - I can see her getting the whip back after this, certainly if she issues an apology for her earlier comments.

(and tbh she should also say she is retiring at the coming GE, her health has not been great in recent years)

Wow, I've been doing a bit of reading on Frank Hester's company TPP in Leeds and he sounds like an absolute headcase.

Imagine working for this guy.

(A review on Glassdoor from a former employee)
All of TPP’s problems can be traced back to its CEO, Frank Hester. The man is deeply insecure and wants nothing more than a band of kowtowing drones to feed his ego. It’s apparent that Frank has few people to associate with outside of work and longs to make friends with his employees, though the feeling is rarely mutual. Several employees have spoken of late-night phone calls from him, which never have anything to do with actual work, but rather whatever happens to be on Frank’s mind. This alone would be a sizeable invasion of privacy, but throw in the fact that Frank is often intoxicated and/or looking to dig up dirt on whichever employee he is currently suspecting of dissent and you're looking at a CEO with absolutely no concept of what’s appropriate. Not only does Frank often make racist or sexist “jokes”, but he revels in his Trumpian filter and expects you to laugh alongside him. Failure to comply can be seen as grounds for dismissal. Virtually none of the longstanding employees engage in non-mandatory company social events, presumably to avoid having to socialise with Frank and risk getting on his bad side, however unintentional it may be.
A poll of the r/Leeds community on Reddit voted it the worst place to work in the city.
It has a huge staff turnover with hundreds of people being sacked unceremoniously on a whim without explanation.
Employees are banned from living with or talking to any previous employees on pain of being fired.
Employees are told who to vote for as voting Conservative benefits the company.

I could go on and on, honestly I can't believe what I'm reading.

And this is the company the government has given £400 million to handle our NHS data. No wonder Frank is so eager to grease their palms in return.

So glad that he's now being nationally recognised for being a twat, and an abusive employer.

I spent over 4 years at TPP and these articles paint an accurate picture but there's SO much more to tell.

Like the time he marched the entire company into a room to show them an X-Ray of a man getting a blow job which someone found during a data migration. He even arranged for people to cover the help desk so EVERYONE got a chance to see it.

This shit just goes on and on, and now I'm reading accounts of bizarre interviews, corroborated by multiple people, where amongst other weird things people are being asked about their views on the Covid lockdowns and brexit so he's obviously trying to weed out anyone with political views contrary to his own. I'd love to know how this is allowed in any company, never mind one dependent on public sector contracts.

If all else fails there's always bribery.

So Newsnight just had the 'black farmer' Wilfred Jones on blaming the left for weaponising racism while making excuses for racists on the right. According to him it's just an unfortunate matter of them not knowing the correct language to use. At least I think that was his argument, it was hard to make sense of his rambling. I actually felt embarrassed for him.

Another reminder of how Abbott has been treated by her own party.
