Poor stuff from Hoyle, no question.

Though in not totally unrelated news, it does seem that Andy McDonald has had the Labour whip restored.

They're afraid of people libelling Frank Hester, which given what we're learning about the man would appear to be a near impossible task.

And even if someone did manage it they'd simply have to apologise for being rude and that would be an end to it.

During prime minister’s questions, the speaker must select MPs from either side of the house on an alternating basis for fairness.

This takes place within a limited timeframe, with the chair prioritising members who are already listed on the order paper.

This week – as is often the case – there was not enough time to call all members who wanted to ask a question.

This is just bollocks, would the entire order of parliamentary business for the day have collapsed if a racially abused woman had been allowed to speak up for herself for a couple of minutes? We all know the length of PMQ's has fluctuated over the years and continues to do so from week to week. Giving Diane Abbott a chance to speak would have hurt nobody but Sunak and his party, so we know exactly why Hoyle ignored her. It was absolutely disgraceful and he needs to go.

Depressingly, wanting to get back into the good books of some Tory MPs may well have been at least part of Hoyle's decision.

You do know that there is an independent process with these things, right?

OJ and yourself may choose to interpret Starmer's words unsympathetically. Others may not.

Quick question AK, how long has the process been going on?

Too long. And that applies more generally, not just to DA.

But that doesn't alter the fact there *is* such a process, which many on the left called for.

Yep. And Neil Gaiman's been boosting people criticising her on Bluesky.
