Hmm...racism is going to be a subject of debate this evening so who should we invite on the panel? I know, how about that mad woman who was quoted at length by Anders Breivik?

It might be worth it if the rest of the panel cite her past ravings at her. But will they?

You're assuming that she hasn't at least been semi-authorised.

I said a few days go when this all blew up, I can see her getting the whip back as a quid pro quo for her retiring at the coming election.

(which would be the best thing anyway, given Abbott's well known health issues)

Refit 5.34 -- a chuckle at that "Jerusalondon " !

We really are in " invisible elephants in rooms" territory :-)

Biden provides bombs n ammo while wanting to build a fuckin 1944 Normandy Landings 'pier '.
(Tho that wheeze may have been updated very recently .)

For two years I've been doing a deep dive into history and breathtaking disinfo on Ukraine , not wanting to be a Useful Idiot along with previous comrades on the Left , but also checking out their talking points to see if I was on the Wrong Side and they were right after all .

Fulminations about Hester disguise the rotten nature of UK party financing, just as bad as the US PAC's .

It is being claimed that Sunak has said there will *not* be a May GE, in an interview on regional TV.

Ooh, blackmailing Abbott to quit. What a lovely thought.

Its not blackmail if she decides to quit because of her poor health.

Please be serious for once - instead of seeing the blackest, most nefarious conspiracy behind literally EVERYTHING all the time.

Not following so many total cranks on Twitter might help.

AK, go back and reread your post. I was responding to your supposition. Something you seemed to present as a good thing.

He did say it, but we don't believe most things he says, so

But its not "blackmail" in any meaningful sense - she is 71 this year and in poor health (and that's one thing that can't really be said about Corbyn, even though he turns 75 soon) Even some of her friends want her to call it a day, but would like her to get the whip (and thus some dignity) back first.

And don't you actually think that Starmer might have felt something for her on a personal level this week, even if they have fallen out politically?

Question Time came tonight from Liverpool and kudos to the Scousers, they weren't taking any shit.

For the Tories we had Lee Rowley. This evening Lee clearly wanted to be the best, and wanted to beat the rest, as he broke the record for the amount of times an audience laughed at a Tory MP. I actually lost count. Comedians would kill for the uproarious mirth Lee managed to inspire without even trying. They whooped as Lee pontificated about extremism while simultaneously saying a racist misogynist who just happened to have given the Tories £15 million deserved forgiveness. He even managed to incite the opposite in loud groans as he feebly attempted to compare Angela Rayner to the racist shit. Nobody was having it, not on the panel and not in the audience. He desperately tried to make it seem like he was the only one being reasonable and tolerant, as if everyone mocking him were some kind of mob. It didn't work, everyone just laughed at him again. I know none of us dare to believe the polls showing the Tories in near wipeout territory but what Lee endured tonight was absolutely brutal.

For Labour we had Jonathan Reynolds. Jonathan sailed through tonight having to say very little, he just sat back and enjoyed the show while occasionally chucking out a call for a general election for applause. He was disturbingly non-committal about Gove's extremism nonsense mind you.

For the SNP we had Stephen Flynn. Not content with making Jordan Peterson look like a total arse on his last appearance this evening Stephen took on Melanie Phillips and the Tories to similar effect. He doesn't have the eloquence of his predecessor Ian Blackford, but makes up for it with an aura of controlled violence. As Jonathan Reynolds sat back Stephen tore the Tories apart for their hypocrisy when it came to extremism. He suggested perhaps someone should provide the Tory party with a mirror as they were the only ones who had illegally shut down parliamentary democracy and were the only ones taking millions from a racist who called for an MP to be shot. Later when Phillips attacked him he, perhaps confident in the fact she was making a fool of herself, said he felt sorry for her despite her making slurs against him and got a round of applause. He's very good at what he does.

The star of the show however was Ayesha Hazarika. Ayesha was righteously pissed off from the start, whether it be about racism and the Tories, or Gaza she was taking no prisoners and she was the only one to point out (besides a member of the audience) that it's not up to Sunak or the Tories to accept an apology from Frank Hester. It's up to Diane Abbott who she went on to lionise and call for her to be re-admitted to the parliamentary Labour Party. Ayesha lets not forget was an advisor to Ed Milliband, hardly a voice of the far left, yet she sounded like fucking Trotsky compared to Starmer's Labour tonight.

For embarrassing lunatics everywhere we had Melanie Phillips. Initially it seemed Melanie was going to disappoint, when asked about extremism she was very careful to fudge her views and talk in generalities as those on the right tend to do when faced with an audience of normal people, but when the subject changed to Gaza she couldn't help herself. What then followed was an extended, finger pointing rant where she repeatedly berated the audience for being naive and not understanding the plight of the Israelis. It was genuinely uncomfortable viewing which I'm sure will turn up on Twitter tomorrow. She claimed Youtube videos showed thriving markets in Gaza and even Fiona Bruce had to call her out on it saying they were from years ago. It used to be fun arguing against her nonsense but tonight...
