Ben Bernanke’s report into the Bank of England’s forecasting is measured but still quietly devastating, our economics editor Larry Elliott writes:

The Bank of England has got markedly worse at forecasting the economy in recent years. Its economic model is faulty. Its systems are out of date. It has been reluctant to admit past mistakes. Communication with the public could be better.
Ouch.

Maybe, but this has been the constant Labour position since the end of the 1980s. There probably aren't that many other things you can say the same about.

20° also for the weekend, then down to ................ 10 !

The unconditional anti-nuke LP members of the past remind me just a bit of those Tories who voted in the CheeseLady . But now with Putin brandishing his nukes, have they changed, just a little ?

The obvious answer to the RU govt TV bombast ( Helpfully subtitled by Julia Davis @JuliaDavisNews) is just to remind them that we too have nukes.

Itsa Nasty world out there and Biden's so-called strategists like Jake Sullivan and the VERY suspicious Samuel Charap need a very close look !

And this is assuming James Daly's complaint to the police isn't mainly/wholly vexatious anyway.
