Morning refit

Oh dear -- "There are more of us than there are of them " !

I thought from the off that those leadership candidates were mugs for signing up to the BoD's Ten Pledges, so was glad that Clive Lewis didn't have to come out publicly with his choice ...

And so it came to pass --
A grassroots Muslim vote campaign supported by several controversial organisations has given 18 demands to Sir Keir Starmer to win back lost votes over Gaza.

The Muslim Vote, which wants to “punish” MPs who did not back a ceasefire, has told the Labour leader to apologise for his stance on the Middle East crisis, promise to cut military ties with Israel and allow followers of Islam to pray in schools.

It called on him to “return the Zionist money”, remove the government’s new extremism definition and place a travel ban on Israeli politicians who support the war. It said its supporters would otherwise vote Greens or Lib Dems.

Inauguration Day, have Gorgeous George and Russell Brand et al been invited ?

Good one in The Times --
When President Putin struts through the Kremlin’s gilded doors at his glittering inauguration ceremony in Moscow on Tuesday, he will be met by loyal members of the political and religious elite who portray him as the living embodiment of Russia.

Not since Joseph Stalin, the Soviet tyrant, has a leader in Moscow established such a powerful cult of personality. A modern-day tsar in all but name, Putin has ruled Russia for 24 years and shows no signs of surrendering power — at least not voluntarily.

Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the Russian parliament, has said: “If there is Putin, there is Russia. If there is no Putin, there is no Russia.” Patriarch Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, a key Kremlin ally, has hailed Putin’s rule as a “miracle of God” and described his murderous invasion of Ukraine as a holy war against “Satanic” forces.

Netanyahu is confident he can cross Washington’s red lines at will, because it will continue to refrain from imposing any consequences on him for doing so. Indeed, Washington is already backing off, now claiming it only opposes a “major” Israeli ground operation into Rafah.
The coming days will reveal if Israel’s calculations are sound, or if there is a limit beyond which the Biden administration is unwilling to be led by its far-right Israeli allies masters .

Tbh am surprised that the US haven't made more effort to force out Bibi.

I don't even mean the good old CIA or similar, just using the leverage they must still have on some prominent Israeli people.

I think the horrifying realisation is, he's one of the more sane people in the Israeli gov. Some of the people likely to replace him just want to glass Gaza and have said so openly.

Ak from Monday...
Because whichever Leeds winner last week that was, the Greens have just suspended them.
They most certainly have not much to the consternation of the Mail, Telegraph and apparently your good self.

Are you sure you want to continue this because lying with dogs and getting fleas is springing to mind.
