Potentially.
If that reflects reality he is toast. Labour will squeeze the Greens, and Clegg can't get enough of that Tory base vote to claw it back.

That might make a Tory / Dem government impossible as Farron will take over.
I still can't quite believe it, though I really want to

Sheffield Hallam has NEVER elected a Labour MP
That's why it's so desirable.

When I got elected for my ward in 2012, it have NEVER elected a Labour borough councillor onto the council - it was the only that never had, in 39 years. I actually made electoral history, believe it or not.

And that feeling. Well, it has to happen to you to really enjoy it. Make history (if in a small way); break the mould.

Go on Hallam, break that mould.

From the Badger Trust on the latest FOI information ... and more.
Dear Members & Supporters,
The Guardian published on 3rd February 2015 a copy of the DEFRA TB Badger Policy Board Risk Review Register.
This document was drawn up by a board which included both DEFRA civil servants and senior NFU representatives. The board met in secret and its minutes were not published, yet it provided advice to DEFRA ministers on all the key risks concerning the implementation of a badger cull policy in England.
This document was only released following a Freedom of Information request by the Badger Trust and an extremely protracted battle with DEFRA in the Upper Tribunal, with the support of the Information Commissioner.
As you can see from the article, the badger cull policy was implemented despite the fact that it was considered to be highly costly to the tax payer, pose a real danger of spreading TB in cattle via perturbation and lead to a significant increase in badger persecution.
Despite previous written assurances, the Secretary of State for the Environment Liz Truss advised me last Thursday that she would no longer meet with the Badger Trust before the final dissolution of parliament at the end of March and the start of the general election campaign, (which is very likely to mark the end of her time as environment secretary).
I am pleased to report that the Prime Minister has personally intervened on this issue and we now have a meeting fixed for 2nd March 2015 with the DEFRA Secretary of State.
The Badger Trust will have many key issues to address with Liz Truss at this meeting and we will keep you closely informed of the outcome.

Many Thanks

Dominic Dyer

Thank you - I like to think of myself on the side of the angels (in whom I don't actually believe!); the reality is messy, but, oh, the joy of despatching a Tory group leader to political oblivion, oh what a night it was.

Sports Direct faces multimillion-pound claim from zero-hours contract workers
Exclusive: Almost 300 employees excluded from bonus scheme that paid out to ‘permanent’ workers expected to file legal claims over next six months

http://www.theguardian.com/business/201 ... mpensation
That's a headline that gives me a warm glow. They might just get their come uppance ...

Zero hours contracts on that scale - as a means of avoiding providing any rights and security - and that being the norm - is disgusting, just disgusting. And should be stopped.

Farron proposal on Right To Buy (see last tweet) entirely sensible. It's exacerbating the housing crisis in most areas.

Tim Farron proposes bill to allow councils to end Right To Buy (as Scotland has).
Wales has already done so too.

Interesting.

Twitter chap on the Guardian night staff (Simon Ricketts) has said that tomorrow's front page sin embargoed until midnight which is why it's not on the regular website.
Neil Henderson ✔ @hendopolis
Ahah the @guardian is holding back their front page #exclusiveklaxon #tomorrowspaperstoday HT @SimonNRicketts
I also note that the FT has gone with the number of City donors with the Tories has doubled in five years.

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Time to out myself.

Hope you don't mind, and I hope you'll follow me and tell friends. I intend to be a lot more active on the site than I have been in the past. I want the world to hear my thoughts, and it's another way - like FTN - to do that. I'll be linking back here, obvs, but I thought I'd just chuck it into the mix.

WTF is the Guardian banging on about.

Nobody gives a toss about the Commons Defence Committee, they are less relevant to the modern world than the Sinclair C5.

Errm, Guardian ended its YTU thread last week, could have lost readership (clickage) there (some brilliant and wonderful Yutters, some not quite so), also and what I think more likely, they thought they had something that they didn't. Otherwise I can't see them not going with the "bankers give lots of money to people who punish everyone else for their sins" story. Something is missing.
