I thought about Rod Argent when I heard that "hold your head" thing from Lemon-gob today. He was gorgeous once.....but I digress!
We've had the German autobahn, a little pocket Miliband, the "Don't let them do it again" video removed because it breached copyright ...
The Cons website is a thing of wonder.
How about a fridge magnet bearing the legend "THE ECONOMY - Labour break it, the Conservatives fix it" - yours for £10.
Or - if you share all this marvellous stuff you get "rewards" (doesn't say what they are - a Miliband doll, perhaps?)
These people are bonkers.
Perhaps I'm just suffering from shock. As with the Spanish Inquisition, I wasn't expecting it! I'll probably recover in due course.

Urgh! How horrible. Glad I didn't see that one.
Edit to add Oh dear, I've seen it now. But why is he playing the theme tune to Arena? It was Arena, wasn't it?

I certainly do, although that was more by the LDs than the Cons - fully accept it's hard to distinguish between them nowadays.
I was however, genuinely speechless when I saw this particular effort & I've now shown it to my other half who simply shook his head & walked away
I think I'm going to be a dissenting voice here. I find it rather alarmingly effective. I can't quite put my finger on who the main (and uninformed, obvs) target audience is meant to be but that could work either way. It may appeal to a lot of people in a scattergun\blunderbuss fashion or a very few. Let's hope for the latter, but I'm not too sure. Sorry for stating the bleedin' obvious but I find it worrying - and ignoring it won't make it go away.
Yes, you're right. Tories are going to love it. Stupid of the Tories to whack at Salmond & the SNP by hooking them up with Labour in order to get people to vote Tory, in my opinion.
Weren't Argent, or some semblance of them, meant to be getting together again? Some sort of collaboration with Colin Blunstone? I can't remember - but, ah, Colin Blunstone!

Colin Blunstone & Rod Argent have been touring, in a limited way, as The Zombies since 2008; a quick look at their website shows an upcoming gig in London.

Afzal Amin has just left the British Army after 11 years service. A commissioned officer and graduate of Sandhurst, Afzal has been recently employed as a strategist in Kabul focussed on Conflict Termination and Peace building.
He joins the Curzon Team as an advisor on specific projects supporting community cohesion in the UK and international stabilisation and development.
The Mail are reporting that Farage and his family had their Sunday lunch at a pub ruined by anti-UKIP demonstrators. They say the protesters included ''migrants, HIV activists, gay people, disabled people and breastfeeding mothers''. Blimey, add Ralph Miliband and Muslims and it would be a Daily Mail hate list in full.
I don't know how others feel but I think this sort of action may be counterproductive and if people want to set up a protest they should do it when he is on UKIP business, not when he is having a family meal at the weekend.

Also a bit dangerous impeding the path of the car, if one of the children had got hurt they'd have been wailing 'Nigel Farage's car hit my child'.
Well I'm a bit torn by this. If you advocate the politics of the fucktard, you really should expect some comeback.

Normally I'd agree but, he has no compunction about spouting controversial opinions which would disrupt those people's lives. He's responsible for an upsurge in 'nastiness' across the whole country and at the same time he's making pot loads of money paid by the taxpayer. If I was his family I'd be ashamed to be seen with him.
I've no sympathy at all.

Just seen Sky's trailer for the debates. Is it just me, or have they deliberately picked a poor picture of Ed? He looks a bit like he's staring vacantly into the distance, all wide-eyed. Or am I just being overly sensitive?

It seems he left his children behind...

Very odd, nothing would persuade me to leave kids - anyone's kids - in a situation I felt was dangerous or threatening.

If its the one that makes him look 10 years older, that's the one Sky always use
The BBC seems quite determined to keep Clive Myrie well away from chairing the newspaper review slot. That doesn't surprise me at all. He's lately been posted to foreign parts (first Greece, I think, and then further afield (Nigeria at the moment)). I suppose it could be a promotion.

Housing repairs in Sheffield to come back under council control:
Housing repairs and maintenance services provided to thousands Sheffield tenants will be taken back from contractor Kier by the city council, it has been announced today. Tenants have long complained about problems with Kier to The Star - from botched repairs to long delays and spending too long on hold when reporting repairs.

I really don't see what the problem is. After all, she must have passed Ukip's new and stringent vetting procedure. The bad old days are surely behind them.
Perhaps the protesters made a mistake - but I had to laugh at some of pictures I've seen on Twitter. There's one with a bunch of women and men with their jumpers pulled up and large baby dolls attached to their chests, and they're all having a good laugh.
What I find odd is that somehow the 2 children left/ran away/got lost/whatever, and Mr.& Mrs.F get into their car and tootle off; then apparently a relative "found" them and brought them home. I suspect that the kids went out the back way with the relative and were perfectly OK all the time.
If they ran away, why the hell didn't their parents follow them? It's all a bit peculiar.
Less odd is the Heil's reportage - all those terrible protesters. Gay and disabled people....heaven forfend some of them could have been both!
The breastfeeders, of course, were only pretending. The only omission in their catalogue of undesirables is people called Miliband.

I wouldn't want anyone hurt, absolutely true. I wouldn't advise protesting in the way of UKIP people in their moving vehicles either. They look cheerful, Yahyah, those protesters, not very hostile.

The other option is that the children were not there in the first place, which is what some of the protesters are saying - who knows? Not me. Although as I said earlier, there is nothing that would persuade me to leave kids - anyone's kids - in a situation I felt was dangerous or threatening.

I'm not sure it will do very much. For a start, it doesn't say anything about what Salmond might make Miliband do, unless they think he's literally going to dance a jig, so they fail to specify why it's a bad thing. Secondly, it's only going to appeal to people who don't like Salmond anyway - not sure how much people other than hardline rightwingers really do regard Salmond as the bogeyman. Third, it would take someone very unfamiliar with UK politics to not ask why, when Clegg hasn't exactly forced Cameron to dance to his tune, it be otherwise for Labour and the SNP?
It's pretty crude in its messaging, and I can't see it having much of an effect on the majority of people who see it. But maybe that's 'optimism bias'.
Completely agree with your analysis, Robert. You're right. That's why I wrote it was a dumb effort. 'What are you trying to suggest, here, Tory guys?' I ask. It's not making me want to vote Tory but then I wouldn't anyway. Who'd they hire for the animation, though? The colour & animé were stylish.
On a more serious note, Clegg allowing Cameron to dictate his appearances in the leadership debates is actionable. I've no idea why Clegg has agreed or allowed himself to be intimidated into not representing the Liberal Democrat party as their leader in whatever debate he's invited to by the broadcasters. I don't give a damn about the LibDems or Clegg, I care very much for democracy & freedom from Tory tyranny which is what we're experiencing with Dave's government.

Um.
Isn't that the 'political correctness' that there's supposed to be so much of these days?
Madam, say what you want & deal with the consequences like a grown-up. Freedom of speech is great - don't be surprised though if nobody votes for you or you find yourself the subject of a police investigation based upon that speech freely dispensed. Cooperative maturity is essential for everyone to cultivate. People wanting to represent their constituents need that skill above all.
