Following on from today's "Miliband can't be trusted with the security of the country" bullshit, here's the front page of tomorrow's Telegraph.

I thought (despite fudging about a bit with the figures) that David Cameron had stated a week or so ago that he was committed to this level of spending.

Crabb on BBC Wales news saying the no 1 issue on the doorstep is the NHS in Wales and the issues caused by the Labour government stripping millions of pounds of funding out of it ................... I kid you not. Well that line didn't go down at all well at the hustings in Haverfordwest.

I haven't found that the NHS in Wales is the no 1 issue on the doorsteps I've been on. Yes, people are worried about cuts and changes - but they are equally or more worried about jobs, opportunities for young people and the really poor wages and employment conditions.

It seems to be the day for gnomic utterances which I'm incapable of understanding. First the LibDem candidate loyalty thing and now this.

YouGov had the Libdems on 31% in April 2010 post-debates. Others as high as 32% (that I've found so far). It suddenly seems so long ago and I don't really remember the Libdems being quite that popular. They ended up on 23%. Anyway, even if you knock 8 points off for the newbie "Libdem effect", the SNP could still be polling 40+ which means Labour really does have to trounce the Tories everywhere else.

How and why do Tories think that Miliband's ability to pull women more attractive than he is, before he was married, reflects badly on him?

Bizarre.

Not only bizarre, but incompetent. Their campaign is shockingly bad. These people are useless. It never ceases to amaze.

(I'd be a great Tory, before anyone says it.)

1st question about the Fallon shit.

Truss - "Fallon absolutely right" - stony silence.
Alexander - "Fallon absolute rubbish" - loud applause

The Truss can only keep a permanent bemused expression and do a lot of shaking her head from side to side. The audience - and other panel members - are not buying the terrible spin porkies from the Tory dossier subtitled Get Miliband.

Apparently there was a Tory speech on education yesterday - this must be the one that Gove trailed on Newsnight the other night.

It seems to have vanished without trace - unless that "pupil resits KS2 in year 7" was it, Maybe that's all they have.

I think we can be fairly sure the SNP are going to win a shed load of seats. Question is can Labour deliver another ten seats on the doomsday scenario.

Tim Stanley of the Daily Telegraph, also contributes to History Today.
Stanley joined the British Labour Party at the age of 15. He was Chair of Cambridge University Labour Club in 2003-4, and stood as the Labour candidate for his home constituency of Sevenoaks at the 2005 general election, where he came third. He has since distanced himself from the Labour Party,[11] and has been arguing in support of the US Republican Party.
from his rather short Wikipedia entry.

You do realise I hold you responsible, PorFavor. I don't usually answer the phone to unknown or withheld numbers but out of consideration for you I got caught out yesterday. I knew from the opening greeting what to expect, but didn't think it unduly rude when I told the caller I was putting the phone down now because I really wasn't interested. Besides I could hardly understand a word, which reminds me... No I won't...

Understated but nice, whether that was what was needed who knows.

However thanks to Fallon and the papers today he got to look cool.

The Scots Nat - Non Dom was a bit of an arse, but at least polite.
