GRN - 5% (-)
So all the hinting was about a poll that changed well within the margin of error?

Presumably 8% may change the way they vote on a whole host of things. Put it another way 92% of the population just went meh.

So below the NHS, Immigration, the economy and Nigel Farage's weird expressions as campaign issues.

Tomorrow the uptick needs to continue for that to be valid, but we may also see the backlash from Cameron being attacked by his own party.

David Cameron’s controversial right-to-buy policy was last night branded a “hypocritical bribe and a sham” after it was revealed that even a Tory housing minister questioned whether it could work.

In a letter to Lib Dem MP Tessa Munt in 2013, Tory Housing Minister Kris Hopkins admitted the policy would lead to a “high liability for the public purse”.

Revealing the letter to attack the Tories, Ms Munt said: “This is nothing more than a cynical attempt by an increasingly desperate Tory party to bribe the electorate.

Just going back to that "DC wanted out" tweet....how long would it have been before a leadership contest?

We know that it wasn't going to be 2020 - more like 2019 or 2018.

This makes it sound like it would have been a lot sooner - maybe even before an EU referendum?

Not surprised the Conservatives wouldn't put anyone up for Newsnight. Despite Maitliss that was a reasonably good discussion with some good panellists - and Fraser Nelson's protestations on behalf of the welfare reforms which apparently are about saving people .... came over as pathetic. The evil and counterproductive use of sanctions came across loud and clear.

Genuinely I don't think they did.

More of the same and a crap hashtag nobody ever used LTEP.

Cameron genuinely seems to have believed he only needed to show up and Miliband would be crushed.

The negative campaigning, personal insults and scaremongering really is all they have got.

Rentoul's latest includes the following gem.
On Sunday night I met Iain Martin and, gagging on my pride, made a late application to join the DUEMA,* which he chairs. It is possible that, if Miliband does become prime minister, his government might be considered quite successful for a year or so, not least because the SNP would want to do nothing to help the Conservatives, with its eyes on winning the Scottish Parliament elections next May.
Don't Underestimate Ed Miliband Association - apparently.

Tesco and Wonga ... maybe they'll want to take a look at their business models ...
Wonga?

Wonga declares £37.3m loss after accidentally borrowing a fiver from itself

http://newsthump.com/2015/04/21/wonga-d ... om-itself/
Legitimised loan-shark Wonga has declared a substantial loss after someone in the expenses department pressed the wrong button and borrowed a fiver six months ago.

The error meant that Wonga had one week to pay back the five pounds, plus three pounds in fees, followed by around three thousand pounds once the company’s utterly life-shattering rate of interest was applied.

Six months later and the company has yet to pay itself back following the error, leading to the massive pre-tax loss and a vague threat to come round to its own house and repossess its own furniture.

Wonga’s CEO, Norman Bugger-Crumpets, said “The irony isn’t lost on us.”

“I’ve begged our collections team to let us off the hook, but we’ve programmed them to be single-minded heartless wank-pheasants of the highest order.”

“They’ve told us we either have to pay up, or some thoroughly terrifying men will come to take anything that isn’t nailed down, and maybe have a go on my wife.”

“It’s simultaneously a testament to our extensive training program, and a massive pain in my arse.”
