Re: Tuesday 5th May 2015
Today's was episode 4 of 5 which they're writing day by day. It's raised quite a few giggles from me and one or two spit-the-tea moments. I watched the most recent episode of Newzoids (by some of the Spitting Image people) which, I think, is on ITV 1 and was quite amusing. More4 has a play, The Vote, being performed live at The Donmar theatre, from 8.30 'til 10 on election night – which is the exact time period over which it is set. It's got Dame Judy Dench in it, Catherine Tate, and others I can't remember.utopiandreams wrote:Just saying I haven't started yet, am rather enjoying Ballot Monkeys. Have there been any others?
And, also on the night, Channel4 kicks off their Alternative Election Night at 9pm – that's nine hours of comedy/alternative programming including Election Last Leg, a special of Gogglebox, Paxman & Mitchell (seriously, they'll be interviewing 'heavyweight guests' and covering the results....)
This time, I'm gonna be stronger I'm not giving in...

That Sun headline is hopeless. Basically anybody with an open mind is going to be totally turned off by it. Patronising and pathetic, they have completely overplayed it.
The right wing press have turned into a parody of themselves. You can't ram stuff like this down people's throats.

My prayer:
Dear God, please let this be the final election where the parties that refuse to court the wizened Aussie are forced to endure the bullying he demands takes place in his daily rags.
Thank you.

Re: Tuesday 5th May 2015
There's a Marina Hyde article http://www.theguardian.com/politics/201 ... jungle-cat other at t'Graun (and apologies if already mentioned) that includes this paragraph:
But will she go further, or has she done just enough to fill her copy?
This, surely, needs some traction. Would help demolish the whole shiny factory/hard hat/hi-viz jacket/happy workers bullshit. After the event, I noticed the woman who had asked this question having a rather agitated conversation, inquiring of someone who appeared to be a superior. “Are you saying my job is at threat for this?”
But will she go further, or has she done just enough to fill her copy?

Further election-based comedy on the telly tomorrow night:
9pm, BBC TWO, Charlie Brooker's Election Wipe (a one-off, one-hour long, rampage through all the election news, as only Charlie Brooker and his team can do it.)
9pm, ITV 1, Newzoids (Series 1, Episode 3)
10pm, Channel4, Ballot Monkeys (episode 5 of 5)
I'll be watching the Charlie Brooker and Ballot Monkeys as they go out and catching up with Newzoids on ITVplayer. Your viewing decisions might vary.

That's a pretty damning series of tweeters' comments on tomorrow's front-pages, @RR2. Not surprised that none of the editors/owners are willing to go on DP. Wouldn't be surprised to see them write Editorials/opinion-pieces along the lines of how dare the loony-lefty BBC demand that we defend our right to free speech, mind...
