Yeah, the PC police.

Terrified of stopping and searching ethnics.

The police in 2 cases apparently arrested fathers that went to rescue their children from abusers.

PC brigade's fault.

I note that the police on occasions chose to arrest victims instead of abusers for public order offences. I'd doubt that good old common sense morality looked very kindly on these children and their families.

The Mail wouldn't. No wonder it's trying to pin it all on PC liberals. Perhaps some of those social workers had the Mail's constant attacks on their profession for interfering in mind?

This is amazing as a story, sure the council could and should have done much better.

But - the cases were raised with the police, regardless. That should have been enough.

But the police did nothing, and in some cases worse than nothing. They seem to have treated the kids as somehow irrelevant trash to be ignored.

That is a total failure and the real scandal here.

11.7 Several people interviewed expressed the general view that ethnic considerations had influenced the policy response of the Council and the Police, rather than in individual cases. One example was given by the Risky Business project Manager (1997- 2012) who reported that she was told not to refer to the ethnic origins of perpetrators when carrying out training. Other staff in children’s social care said that when writing reports on CSE cases, they were advised by their managers to be cautious about referring to the ethnicity of the perpetrators.
But that's surely because it shouldn't matter what their ethnicity happens to be.

After all, the report does say in an earlier bit:
11.2 As has been stated many times before, there is no simple link between race and child sexual exploitation, and across the UK the greatest numbers of perpetrators of CSE are white men.
A case is a case is a case no matter who the offender is.

I think that gets it. If the Police didn't act, then there's the culprit. I don't really see a need for this ludicrous - but predictable from a shitrag like the Fail - witch hunt. WRT the above, I'm amazed that anyone ever becomes a social worker. It's shitty anti-social and frequently very unpleasant work with some of the worst examples of people in the UK (although I hope I can exclude myself and MsRemarx plus our wee piranha from that summation), usually at anti-social times and under the media spotlight that condones child sexualisation (see any edition of the Fail) whilst thundering on about how 'liberal lefty' attitudes are harming our children and society.

Becoming a parent hasn't lessened my ire at those arseholes; I hate the Fail and those that espouse even more, as they are actively working in the interests of the same people they pretend to oppose. See also, Richard Desmond, owner of the ever so moral Daily Excess, also owner of a large chain of porno mags and channels.

No difference.

I saw same point being made in the summary. Doesn't quite say "leave the Asians alone", does it? There was another bit that referred to several social workers saying they feared being called racist. That might well be true, but equally if you're in the shit, it's a get out. Funny how same people who never believe allegations of racism believe anyone saying "couldn't do anything, they'd call me a racist".

There's another bit that describes a nasty macho culture. Not exactly like the Islingtonian PC culture everyone's assuming.

Edit- I get your point about Desmond. I was being v dense. Apologies for misreading so badly.

Think sexualisation of children can be overdone. Not much of that in Ireland in the 30s. Plenty of sytematic abuse.

No difference between Demond's porn and child abuse?

The cheap titillation that Desmond's publications indulge in are simply on a sliding continuum from the sort of crap the Fail and Excess churn out. The difference is that 'Asian Babes' - one of Desmond's titles - is frowned upon, whereas the usual 'gosh she's nearly 15/16' shit that the Fail regularly posts up is considered to be family and child friendly.

Much as I think the Graun's now shite, I can't see them pulling that sort of bollocks.

Bottom line is, you ascribe to a society that sexualises children, and if you spend your time fucking over the only people who'll try to help, whilst defending our Brave Boys In Blue as they disregard hard evidence, then don't be too surprised when you end up with more Rotherhams. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I've seen the other side of all of this.

No worries mate - I'm one of the worst when it comes to getting hold of the wrong end of the stick.

This is FTN, not Ci(not)F; at least we can discuss it without some idiot deleting our posts and ids.

Night!
