Perhaps some kind of earlobe warmers could be fashioned.

You'd just slide them on when such distress is registered.

I just laughed and called him a poof.

To be fair, earlobe related deaths are far more numerous than people realise.

I've just been reading a book about the eruption of Krakatoa and that was awesome. Six miles of rock thrown thrown twenty miles high causing 150 metre high tsunamis killing 30,000 people.

John Hurt stars as the dissolute, plain-speaking wit. With frequent, very strong language.

My same friend was round this evening and needless to say I kept the place warm in fear of him having a cold earlobe episode.

I even joined him on his walk to the Chinese takeaway just in case he found himslelf bereft of ear warmth half way.

All went well and I had a Schezuan chicken.
