It's raining so hard here it sounds like a dozen cows peeing on a tin roof. We've had over 24 hours of rain so far.

Still no warmer either. Like October, sitting with a rug over my lap.

Just managed to get here! Thanks to the guys for setting this up.

Haven't been around for a while as PC in Storage together with the rest of my belongings! Long story .... but moved out of house one day and moved back in the following day. "Camping out" in my old dining room which has a garden table, four garden chairs and a "put you up". No TV, no computer ....... just my tablet.

Anyone heard of money laundering in the housing market and the actions the Bank of England take when they suspect it? My buyer's bank account has been frozen and he only has eight days left in which to finally complete or I shall have my full 10% deposit for sale of my house, some interest at 4.5% on outstanding balance and ........... still have my house!!!!!

Talk later.

Nice to see names again.

(I miss my mouse and my keyboard. Can't cope with this!)

Hi Giselle, lovely to hear from you.

Sounds an odd situation for you to be in, hopefully things will get resolved.
Must be strange to have to end up camping in what is still your own home.

Did you get any strange vibes about the buyer ?

No yahyah - but I most certainly have "vibes" about him now. Exchange was meant to be around 24 July but got delayed til this month. I'm half hoping he doesn't complete by 10/09 too!

Blimey. I knew things were a bit edgy with opening a bank account in case it was for laundering, and I knew a couple that tried to buy a house for cash - she was a sex worker - he was her minder - and they were told they had to get some sort of mortgage to go with the cash.
They must be clamping down even harder now.

Thank you for setting this up – it is much clearer and easier to use than with the earlier hosting-site. That is to say, it works better on this computer  I hope to turn up more often, now.

Hello LadyCentauria, nice to meet you.

There's a lot less background crap on this version, and no ads because we own it :ugeek:

We've made the decision about our old cat.

Time to stop trying to keep her going. She's had enough.
Phoning the vet tomorrow to ask her to call.

Feels very unsettling and sad.

We've spent the weekend talking about her glory days, she's sitting quietly in her basket.

Never had to go through the process with a pet before, am anxious to make sure everything goes peacefully. Vet has told us before that she will inject straight into Poppy's kidney as using her vein would be too traumatic.

Thanks Anatoly.

Feeling unsettled anyway. Hate change at best, let alone loss.

Scotland breaking away maybe, UKIP/Tory stuff, all that external change doesn't help when it's at home as well.

Still, the sun's shining, some chirpy old 30's dance band on the CD player.
Husband's doing the cleaning [well trained isn't he :) ?]

I'll be thinking of you. Just as with human loss, you have to remember the good times, and that you gave her a good life.
Sadly Mr Ohso and I have had to go through it quite a few times. It's very, very quick and important that you send her with love. Which I know you will.... Take care....Di

Thank you both. Sorry to hear you had to let your cat go too recently Rebecca.
Apart from that, hope all well with you and your family.

It went really peacefully.
She was comfy in her cat bed and sleeping already and the vet was lovely, took her time and was very human as well as animal oriented.

Lots of tears and some smiles too remembering her antics over the years, we had her 18 years and she was 21 recently, a very good age.

Sorry to read this yahyah, losing a pet is traumatic, and all you can do is console yourself with the fact they had a good life, lost my head when I lost my Hamish, he was only 8, my best mate, but the years he had were good ones and I remember them, sure you will do the same with Poppy.

More sad news...We had to have our lovely Spike put to sleep this morning. He was so ill we couldn't put it off any longer...I don't know what we're going to do without him. But we've decided no more pets. Losing them seems to get worse as we get older.

So sorry to hear that. It's always so hard even when it's the right thing to do, so you have my sincere condolences.

I've been dogless since Bear died three years ago and have told myself since, no more pets, but I'm getting more and more tempted – especially after a friend did a doggy-portrait photography session with five Italian Spinone pups. I want, I want, I want...

Oh So,

Am so sorry hear about Spike. Your posts about him gave me such a strong impression of him.

 for you and Mr OhSo.

I wish I could say it was easy, but a week after Poppy going the pain is still raw but lessening a little.

Like you, we have decided not to have any more pets so it's like dealing with empty nest syndrome as well as losing a loving little pal.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. I'm still feeling like a murderer at the moment. Trying not to think about it because it makes my stomach turn.
For his sake we had to do it. If we'd hung on any longer it would have been cruel. I made Mr Ohso stay in the car. He was too emotional and I didn't want Spike to pick up distress or fear. I don't know how I did it.

It's trying to get your brain to really accept that you aren't going to get your young fit animal back that's the problem. Have lost count of how many times I've sobbed that I want Poppy back.

But my wise old man points out that even if we could have her back for a short while we'd have to say goodbye again which would be even more painful.

Was gardening this afternoon and saw where I found Poppy a while back with her legs collapsed and pulling herself on her stomach across a puddle. No way for an animal to have to be.

You loved Spike, and did so much for him. You were like us, the vet said we had continued long after many people would have.

So don't reproach yourself please, you are no murderer OhSo, you cared about Spike in the best way possible including not letting him suffer anymore.
