Chester Zoo. My Brother's girlfriend works with the primates and got us behind the scenes. It was wonderful.

Yours truly and his younger brother. He may have the hair but I have the Lemurs.

Honestly I could fill a whole page here with pictures but I was asked not too.

We fed the Orangutans and the Chimpanzees but those were behind wire mesh and the Zoo are paranoid about animal rights idiots trying to claim sensible precautions are somehow cruel.

The Lemurs were marvelous in their politeness, utterly dainty in the way they would pick out a single bit of fruit. I worried briefly that they may chew on my ears or something but they are the most gentle of creatures. And they make this funny little bark while looking at you with inquisitive eyes.

They're primates and you can tell.

Chimps and Orangutans however can rip your face off so I wasn't allowed to have them on my shoulders.

I needed some cheering up and this was fucking awesome.

I know.

It was wonderful.

Then I got home and faced the same crap as usual.

Life has a habit of punching you in the face and dragging you down again to its own depressing level.

How long has your brother worked there?I have a feeling I recognise him.We used to visit Chester and zoo better half in wheelchair and dialysis in hotel room ,it was about the right size to enjoy without mutual knackeration setting in.I may be looking for connections to hang a happy memory on.I luckilly do not get depressed more nothingness/loss of purpose -the price I pay for enveloping shared endeavour and as whole as two people can be,now ripped asunder, expected but terminal for eternity ,a price I happilly made.Look after yourself.

My Brother doesn't work at Chester Zoo. He's a science teacher who every year offers me exam answers to read that are hilarious. Despite the fact he is sort of responsible for how funny they are.

I spent 20 years of my life thinking I couldn't exist as a single individual. As just me. I had been in a couple since I was 16 years old. Then at 40 I finally found myself adrift and flying free. I did the obvious thing and went over to Hamburg's Reeperbahn and got fucked.

Now through Meetup.org I've met someone nice.

I won't patronise you, but if even I can find like minded good people I'm sure you can do the same.

If you need any help let me know.

Sorry for confusion.I am fine just being dramatic, though three close family deaths in quick succession has definately tested resilience I still have family and my memories are enough to sustain me and I am basically an antisocial bastard(not in a harmful way I can spend a day in the company of a crossword and be quite content) but able to make occasional forays into more communal activities when "needed"; appreciative that somebody was willing to put up with me.Thanks for words which I also appreciate.

The thing about being sane and mildly smart is realising that a multiplicity of opinions is not only welcome but crucial to any kind of genuinely functional soceity.

Unfortunately we appear to be currently going down the binary stupid route and the internet is making it worse.

Anyway I'm wrecked and here's some feel good Scottish stuff...

I've never appreciated poetry. Something lacking in my brain I guess. So I can be no judge. But I thought that was pretty good if you can take a compliment from a verse averse simpleton.

My last friend is leaving this week.

They've all gone. Got married, got jobs, got dead.

All that is left is me.

Happy little me.

Existing.

As best I can.

One of these days I will wake up and life will be easy.

They are in your head
One of my got dead ones talks to me regularly and I answer out loud
I atill smoke outside
Put the lights out
Lock the door
Have fruit
Stink after the usual and wash my hands

I am waffling ,just mean physically you may be alone, but you carry other people around with you.I have a store of incidences which I utilise as comfort and an array of soft toys and garden ornaments individually named and unique character and voices, bloody hard work I've got a gorilla called guy who insists on knitted gloves and thinks he is the Pope.

I don't read poetry and rarely write attempts at them.It is more laziness to In lieu of a cogent argument. You got the gist,so it worked.

Having reread it appears somewhat conspiratorial/paranoid-I mean the inflamers of the situation-media etc-walk away unscathed equally.

Culture sucks down words
Itemise loathing and feed yourself smiles
Organise your safe tribal war
Hurt maim kill and enslave the ghetto

Each day living out a lie
Life sold cheaply forever, ever, ever

That's poetry.

Soft toys and ornaments don't continually argue in ever degrees of ridiculousness.
I love people I also think they annoying pillocks,I know I am didn't expect everybody else to join in.

Lemurs are polite little things.

They will wait and ask with a glance if it's ok to take that grape.

Then carefully pick it from your hand.

Humans are mostly ignorant cunts.

I've spent years trying to steer humanity towards the kind of thing we were promised by the optimistic side of Seventies and Eighties sci-fi but I've failed.

And now that I've failed I find that I no longer care.

I'm old enough and vaguely rich enough now to be able to just bury my head and disappear up my own arse.

Drink some beer, smoke some weed and leave it for the next generation.

I've lost every single fucking fight besides one. And that was when I was a Liberal Democrat.

I'm tired and I've had enough.

I feel like one of the Elves leaving Middle Earth.

Our time is done.

Let these younger idiots fight it out amongst each other.
