'narrow defeat' is a defeat.
Narrow defeat is the spin that the government have already indicated they'll apply. To the supreme court verdict, not the actual referendum decision, naturally.

It needs a big zoom up, but check out the words about Boris Johnson on the placard in this pic from outside the Court.
Not sure if it is real or for comedic effect

1) That a detailed Government plan for Brexit is published before Article 50 is triggered, along with robust impact assessments.

Now the Supreme Court has said the thing has to go to Parliament, it's hard for anyone to say that the opposition parties are enemies of the people for asking reasonable questions about plans. It becomes their job and duty rather than political opportunism.
Good luck to them I hope they get it more or less right!
Re: Tuesday 24th January 2017
That isn't going to stop the conservative leadership, the press and UKIP doing nothing but that. I expect a politically opportunistic invective-filled campaign given a free run by the press in the two by-elections, especially Stoke, which will be about Labour's treachery and nothing else.it's hard for anyone to say that the opposition parties are enemies of the people for asking reasonable questions about plans. But the people who Remain need to listen will listen. I do think even in the Trump era that the average bod will understand that if two courts have said something should be referred to Parliament it probably should be.
