Worth bearing in mind, of course, that this improvement has happened during the period when he has been under constant attack from the MSM and supposedly "in crisis"; Lynton must be spitting blood, looks like the smear campaign was totally counter-productive.
And, yes, what did they think they were trying to do with that appalling Stockton South poll? Well done to Mike Smithson for spotting their shenanigans. *

Ken Clark firing on all cylinders at some Guardian even tonight, apparently.
Thatcher demented, Ukip given too much credibility, most EU agreements perfectly good.
He appears to be having too much of a good time these days, he's gone from attacking oppositions to winding his own side up.

Chuck in "FIND MADELEINE!!!!1!!", the latest wonder cure for Alzheimer's (a sure draw to Excess readers) and the latest "revelation" about Lady Di, and there you have it. Oh, and unstinting support for UKIP.
It all adds to a paper that's arguably even worse that the Mail, Star and Sun combined. It's probably not printed a genuine and genuinely interesting article since some time back in the 1920s, and even then I doubt they managed it. Yea gods - surely not? I'm more acquainted with the bilious output of Sir Jonah Junor, an alleged journalist whose output was framed in the best clipped 1950's accent and diction, and who would have had an instant thrombo on the spot to learn that. I'm sure his worthy successor to the title of Worst Columnist Actually Getting Fucking Paid For That Shite, Leo McKinstry, the well-regarded (by himself) but otherwise widely recognised Duke of Puke would have no truck with such a salacious abrogation of the need to measure and balance every word printed (except in his own risible column, of course) and immediately bite through the stem of his pipe. From the Excess article, they've turned to their favoured source for Snowmaggedon predictions, who sayeth thus:
"The resulting weak jet stream, which usually holds the cold at bay over the North Pole, will give way to a blast of freezing air which will sweep across the UK.
Mr Madden said: “A much anticipated colder and more wintry spell of weather is likely as we progress throughout the latter part of November and into December.
“Even though the computer models are sheepish on showing this as a certainty right now, there has been enough signals to identify a high possibility of a blocking pattern developing within this period."
You'd have to have a heart of stone not to snigger at the idea of shy and reluctant computers whose only purpose in life is apparently to torment and deny the predictions of Mr. "I consulted the chicken entrails and a ouija board, yes, it really does work".
BTL there aren't many comments, and I can only assume that those that are there are not from regular Excess readers, as they're simply taking the piss out of the article.

I love raspberries. And the simple recipes are always the best.
Rosie takes 3 anti-convulsants.One of which can cause short term memory loss, and the dosage has been reduced in an attempt to improve a seriously poor stm function.Which is improving.
But with all these drugs it's difficult to get the combination of doses right, and another has been increased to try and stop this night time waking up in sudden strong agitation.
It all takes time, and because Rosie can't explain clearly how she feels things are not easy.In January another drug may be substituted, but poor love, she's scared to go to sleep now.

I also thank that you're being rather unfair about the Express: don't forget that it had the superb James Bond daily strip by Jim Lawrance and Yaroslav Horak for nearly twenty years.

I was born & bred in Linthorpe & Acklam, and I remember a lot of working class Tories in the late 70's. Many of them still thought Thatcher was right, that the unions were "too powerful" and voted Tory even when she was destroying the area - the Tories won Stockton South from SDP in 1987

Ingelby Barwick has what looks suspiciously to me like a land deal masquerading as a free school.

Cor, it's been a while since I've seen a Giles cartoon. My dad had several of the collection books and even as a wee nipper they used to fascinate me. I also thank that you're being rather unfair about the Express: don't forget that it had the superb James Bond daily strip by Jim Lawrance and Yaroslav Horak for nearly twenty years.

Now why doesn't that surprise me at all. They face in so many directions. They claim a progressive agenda ... but they've got a very conservative faction, especially in the rural areas.Nia Griffith @NiaGriffithMP 5m5 minutes ago
Leanne Wood not ruling out coalition with Tories. Has she worked out odds of Plaid holding balance of power? Give me her maths lessons.
Still their failure to rule out a 'rainbow' coalition with Tories and Lib Dems before the last Welsh Assembly election cost them votes ... and seats. I hope it does the same this time around if they continue with this approach.

It's very good. Milne is one of the last saving graces of the G.Austerity has clearly failed. So why don’t they ditch it?

Really glad to hear that recycling firm pulled out of workfare. That was the most disgusting exploitation of their former employee ...Councils helped themselves to half-a-million hours of unpaid labour in the same period, as did scores of household-name companies. Not only do such “placements” do little to help the unemployed into work, they are clearly replacing and undercutting paid employees. There is now a determined backlash. In Mortherwell in Scotland, a man who refused an instruction from his local jobcentre to work for his previous employer for six months without pay had his dole money stopped as punishment. Last week, the firm pulled out of the scheme after it was the target of “slave labour” protests.
