Interesting as to different thinking aspects. Some surprised I didn't remove accessible aspects,to me to do that would deny possible entry to others,as well as a potentiality for me.

Re: Friday,1st September 2017
Two local council byelections this week:
Scarborough DC - an unusual Tuesday vacancy saw a Tory hold that preserved their knife edge majority on the council. This ward returned two Tory members unopposed in 2003, but an Independent took one seat in 2007 (topping the poll) and retained it in 2011 before the Tories regained their monopoly on GE day in 2015, narrowly seeing off the Indy for the second seat whilst UKIP also polled a strong third with some 20% of the vote. UKIP did not stand this time, and their absence helped the Tories advance healthily into the mid-40s - however, their main challenge this time came from Labour who - after coming a poor 4th two years ago - increased by close to 20 points to move into a decent second. The same Independent who was elected twice previously saw their vote continue to decline as they slipped into third, whilst the regionalist Yorkshire Party came last with 4% in their first punt here.
North Somerset - the last contest in August saw a Labour gain from an Independent who had been elected under the localist North Somerset Third banner in 2015 when they shared this ward's two seats with the Tories (who topped the poll) This was the first election since boundary changes, but the predecessor ward had been first won by the LibDems and then the Tories before the Indy got their breakthrough in a 2013 by-election. Labour came 4th two years ago in a fairly fragmented fight, but an increase of over 20 points took them to a surprise win - modestly ahead of the Tories even though they also registered a small increase from previously. LibDems also got an increase and moved from 5th and last time to third now, but they are still some way from their former strength here - indeed a previous LibDem councillor from the former ward stood as an Independent now, but their 8 per cent was well down on what the previous incumbent had managed. But they still managed to beat UKIP, who came a good third in 2015 but lost over two thirds of their vote from then in coming last with less than 7%.
That concludes this month, and September really does start off with a bang - a mini "Super Thursday" with no fewer than *14* (yes, fourteen) contests. I will endeavour to cover them all in the usual way, but as Captain Oates (sort of) said, "it may take some time"

Just arrived in my e-mail in boxEuropean Union (Withdrawal) Bill
Published Friday, September 1, 2017
The Bill cuts off the source of European Union law in the UK by repealing the European Communities Act 1972 and removing the competence of European Union institutions to legislate for the UK. As such, the EUW Bill has been referred to as “the Great Repeal Bill”. The Bill provides for a complex mixture of constitutional change and legal continuity.

It doesn't matter. The Campaign Group will be in control of everything soon enough.

Care Act legislatively reduced support for many,as,Clegg and others might have known if they had read it.A significant loss today in terms of combatting continued false economy and denial of what most of us take for granted.

8,500 people lost in Mediterranean since death of three-year-old Alan Kurdi
UK axes support for Mediterranean migrant rescue operation
That's a two year average of over eleven people dying in the med every day whilst trying to reach safety in Europe.According to the latest figures released by the UN’s refugee agency, 4,337 people are believed to have drowned since September 2016 while attempting to reach European shores. Most departed from Libya bound for Italy, from Turkey bound for Greece or, more recently, from Morocco bound for Spain. A further 4,185 people died in the previous 12 months, from 1 September 2015 until the end of August 2016.
UK axes support for Mediterranean migrant rescue operation
October 2014.Britain will not support any future search and rescue operations to prevent migrants and refugees drowning in the Mediterranean, claiming they simply encourage more people to attempt the dangerous sea crossing, Foreign Office ministers have quietly announced.
