Morning all.

So a poll of party members find that they have more extreme views than their MPs?

Well, I'm shocked, shocked!

Pretty sure that's the case with every party that's ever existed...

Interesting timing for a poll. Getting worried about local elections maybe?

Actually, most of the findings aren't even that noteworthy. That the Times felt the need to "sex up" the figures on the current AS controversy really does say it all.

The Times poll question has three options, two of which are true and entirely consistent with each other. This is not a good bit of polling.
Easy then to ignore option 2 and present only option 1.

I wasn't educated in the UK and there's people, processes and relationships I don't know about
Mr citizen continues teaching me background information related to current events
Please see smattering of work done today below

---- Read some of Alan Sugar's biography
---- Researched Labour party membership dates of Alan Sugar
---- Watched about ten minutes of an episode of The Apprentice

I've long been dismayed there's much regrettable about the Labour government(s) during 1997 - 2010. Nonetheless, Labour produced some genuinely good policy, properly funded some public services and had some lasting success internationally during this time. However, I understand better now the detrimental effect of good work neglected and bad policy cultivated.

I had to ask Mr citizen if the expressions of shock and dismay over a contestant's seemingly unscheduled departure from the Apprentice before it's end were genuine. He explained a little about how 'reality television' is created. The form editing and presentation going on in the program renders content marketing, advertising. It's disingenuously presenting itself as something it's not.

I seems Jess Philips wants Corbyn to exert overbearing influence on the Labour party, so she can have her way.

I advocate him stating his view and using his influence to seek her to resign. I advocate him saying that he cannot see how she can stay in a position of influence and power. I'm not trying to be funny or creative posting what I've done today, I'm trying to figure things out
Some questions and thoughts below

----Does a Labour peer remain a Labour peer after leaving the party?
----If a Labour party member feels bettered represented by another party, they're free to leave the Labour party and should do so
----It's inappropriate for a Labour party member remaining in the party after they've publicly decided their conscience can't allow them to vote or support Labour
----My views have altered as I've learned and will likely continue to evolve

Please help teach me what you can and thank you for your continued patience

Terrible scenes in Israel-nations have right to defend borders but responses 2 violence must be proportionate. death and injuries of Gazans as well as those few protesters intent on harming Israeli civilians must be condemned & Egypt, hamas & Israel must work for peace together.
The people killed were in Gaza and refuses to condemn Israel.

No it isn't, and that needs to be firmly stated now as much as any other time (if not more so)

But in a small but significant number of cases, that isn't what we are actually talking about.

I see that Sugar has now deleted his tweet.

And further down.
Labour deputy leader Tom Watson said Ms Shawcroft should "explore her own conscience", adding that she needs to "realise the damage she has done to her own party and to Jeremy personally and make the right decision" about whether to resign.

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "I am afraid she is elected by our members. I am not in a position to remove her from the committee and neither is Jeremy."

That's a stand-alone statement Hyde makes in her article. I'm not convinced it's true. There's nothing in the rest of the article credibly backing it up and haven't found reputable data supporting that statement.

It's not a conspiracy, just that the ruling class are all related.

Anti-Semitism row official Christine Shawcroft quits Labour NEC

Ms Shawcroft will be replaced on the NEC by comedian Eddie Izzard.

In a statement announcing her resignation on Saturday night, she said: "I reaffirm my complete opposition to anti-Semitism and my abhorrence of Holocaust denial, and support all measures to tackle this within the party."

She added that she would "pledge my full energy to securing for our country the Labour government under Jeremy Corbyn that it so desperately needs." (BBC News website)

"Labour Party 'not connected' to abusive anti-Jewish messages"
I think the article's been revised since I first read it, to include a link and mention of Sir David Garrard, and some rewording, but as well as being about anti-Semitism, it includes
It also said it found messages comparing the Conservatives to Nazis and suggesting a journalist should be killed.
I'm fairly sure the original version the messages weren't concatenated (if that's the right word), and I can accept that calling Conservatives 'Nazis' might, in some contexts, be too extreme, but reporting this in combination with anti-Semitism seems a dangerous step.
