"Ex-FBI chief calls Trump ‘morally unfit’ for presidency"
Comey compared Trump to the mafia bosses he spent years prosecuting as a young public servant.
“I’m not trying to … suggest that President Trump is out breaking legs and, you know, shaking down shopkeepers,” Comey said, adding that the similarity was in what he saw as a culture of loyalty around the president. “The loyalty oaths, the boss as the dominant center of everything, it’s all about how do you serve the boss, what’s in the boss’ interests. It’s the family, the family, the family, the family.”
Bad leaders & policies get to break more than just legs.

The Sun/Mail pick up on the story today. Response. Panic!

Dont tell me this is not a government run by a servants on behalf of a few tax avoiders who cant stand to live in this benighted country of ours!

Edited to add petition comments.

Rudd says that, if people have been in this country for decades, there will be proof of that. The Home Office will help “Windrush generation” applicants to find this evidence, she says. (Politics Live, Guardian)
The Home Office itself should be duty-bound to "find" this evidence and then share it with those affected (for their own retention and reference, in case it should be needed in future). Of course, if people want assistance in finding evidence for themselves (in the unikely event of their not trusting the Home Office) then - fine.

And why, if this "evidence" is so freely available, hasn't the Home Office done this already? Lack of will being the obvious answer.

I thought that David Lammy was excellent!

.@TomTugendhat spot on about Windrush kids. The solution lies in formalising their status, not abandoning sensible policies to limit illegal immigration. But this is urgent: they’re Brits who have done nothing wrong, yet they’re being treated terribly.
I mean c'mon - it's not like he was at Theresa May's side at the Home office for years and then in No 10 is it? Oh...wait..

Watching the statement and ensuing discussion was profoundly depressing. The level of exchanges was almost uniformly low. Tories pretended it was Corbyn the HoC should be discussing and he was an enemy of the UK anyway; the usual Labour suspects continued to oppose their leader rather than the government. Only the SNP introduced serious points for consideration.

May of course did not answer any of the substantial questions but lapped up the sycophancy while colluding with Tory pretense that Corbyn was somehow the villain here. The Syrians didn’t get much of a look in.

A despicable performance all round.

Totally agree. I never thought I could ever hate the tories, and the ideas they represent, as much as I did in the 80s, but they are driving me crazy now. In fact I am nearly at the stage where maybe Thatcher wasn’t so bad after all.
