I thought it was on the doorknob. How did they get it on their shoes? Did they forget the key and have to kick the door in?
Re: Thursday 3rd May 2018
I wonder how the voter ID scheme is going in Gosport. It's not been mentioned (so far). Needless to say, there's absolutely no point in consulting the local press for a progress report.

Aside from counting the number of people who are turned away (which doesn't seem to be being recorded anyway), I can't see any mechanism (apart from turnout figures - which can't be incontrovertibly connected to voter ID requirements) for gauging how many people may not have even attempted to vote because they knew that they didn't have the requisite documents.

How much time did government give people to get adequate photo ID for these elections? Were the new ID requirements made clear?PorFavor wrote:Aside from counting the number of people who are turned away (which doesn't seem to be being recorded anyway), I can't see any mechanism (apart from turnout figures - which can't be incontrovertibly connected to voter ID requirements) for gauging how many people may not have even attempted to vote because they knew that they didn't have the requisite documents.

I've never heard of a pilot study that didn't have set criteria for judging the outcome !
Has anyone heard what the official Objective is for this operation ?
Have the Opposition asked them ?

I've been canvassing the council estates in Hackney South, one of the most heavily #Remain seats in Britain, and not been asked about #Brexit once. Can't generalise from the particular, I suppose, but what are other people's experiences?

My dad was disabled.
On polling day, he’d call the Conservative party office on great western street & they’d give him a lift to the polling station where he’d religiously vote Labour.
Then, he’d get them to drop him at the parkside pub on lloyd st in Moss Side.
I miss him a lot

We’ve just had six months plus of the govmt literally trying to put British citizens on planes because they can’t produce papers so if your schtick today is “It’s only those who aren’t entitled to vote who won’t have the right ID” you can do one

According to Laura Bundock(sp?) on Sky TV News, Jeremy Corbyn's best chance of success in London is "in London". Sounds as if it could be a long night . . .
