I've got half an eye on Sky News Press Preview.
I seems that the breast cancer scanning scandal might not be a scandal after all.
Poor Jeremy.

Might suggest that Jeremy Corbyn's "Leave-ish" leanings (or his ambivalence, at least) isn't cutting the mustard, then.PaulfromYorkshire wrote:No idea really.PorFavor wrote:Yes. Any idea why it's so bad there?PaulfromYorkshire wrote:Going shockingly for Labour in Nuneaton

Re: Thursday 3rd May 2018
Question Time report from St Albans.
For the government this evening we had David Lidington who said nothing of any consequence whatsoever, his curious jerky bird like mannerisms being his only point of interest. For Labour we had Chi Onwurah who I thought put in a good shift even when being mugged at one point by Martin Lewis doing a bit of grandstanding which she seemed to take in her stride. Then there's the aformentioned Martin Lewis who was good on actual facts and figures but gets a downvote for repetition as he used the word 'abomination' repeatedly. Also we had the comedian Matt Forde who wasn't funny or clever, and I say that as someone who shares his politics. Then finally some odious creature from the Express called Camilla Tominey who seemed to spend most of the programme screwing up her face and playing the victim which of course people on the right never do so perhaps she had piles or something.
As for the audience they were a well behaved bunch, no shouty loons, just a lot of complaints about house prices, from the ones without houses of course.

Oh yeah.
Voted Labour with all my three votes today so I've been a good boy.
I thought about giving one to the Alliance for Green Socialism but he blanked me on Tuesday when I waved at him so sod him.

Yes - I caught a brief bit. The bit where Camilla Thing was complaining about the panel being loaded against her.Sky'sGoneOut wrote:Question Time report from St Albans.

Thank God the Labour rep on Sky's coverage is bright and articulate (Dawn Butler).
Re: Thursday 3rd May 2018
Really trying my best but I'm fading fast. I'm amazed I've managed to make it this far - I'll have to go to bed soon. Nothing much happening results-wise to really buoy me up, either, so far.

Considering that was the first Question Time in as long as I can remember that didn't have a Brexit majority of panelists I found that utterly hilarious.PorFavor wrote:Yes - I caught a brief bit. The bit where Camilla Thing was complaining about the panel being loaded against her.
Having sullied myself checking some of her previous witless utterings she'd be the first to accuse others of being snowflakes and playing the victim and yet there she was, entirely bereft of any sense of self awareness whatsoever, being a snowflake and playing the victim.
And I'm not accusing her of hypocrisy, no that would require that I assumed she realised what she was doing and had a modicum of cynical intelligence.
No, she's just really fucking thick.
And a political/royal editor for the Sunday Express.
(It would appear they are interchangeable).

Hmm...not looking good is it?
Ok I'm just going to head off to the music thread and get stoned. You're welcome to join me.
Sometimes escapism is the only way to stay sane.
I learned that as a Liberal Democrat.
I know that sounds idiotically glib but I also remember how fucking awful it feels when things don't go your way.
So just saying I feel your pain.
And that's former Lib-Dem. I wouldn't use an actual fire extinguisher on them if they were on fire nowadays.
