Ah - good point. I've been sedulously avoiding the news thus far! I'm rather worried that all sorts are really going on, under the cover of this expensive farce, that we won't get to hear about.

I'm trying to get used to some new varifocal glasses today, so I'm already a bit grumpy. The lack of normal news is just adding to my irritation. I mostly missed the last royal wedding by going shopping, but not completely because the tills for the food hall were next to the electrical department where the tv's were all on and so my check out assistant was able to watch as she rang my stuff through, so I got a cheerful running commentary of the exchanging of the rings as I paid for my groceries.

Richard Murphy, on EU Withdrawal Bill & definition of "consent decision".
(4) For the purposes of subsection (3) a consent decision is—
(a) a decision to agree a motion consenting to the laying of the
draft,
(b) a decision not to agree a motion consenting to the laying of the
draft, or
(c) a decision to agree a motion refusing to consent to the laying of
the draft;
and a consent decision is made when the Parliament first makes a
decision falling within any of paragraphs (a) to (c) (whether or not it
subsequently makes another such decision).

Yes - that worked, thanks. Somewhere about the place I've got a book about the Levellers. Amazingly, it's called "The Levellers". I got it in a second-hand bookshop years ago, and still haven't read it. Now, if only I knew what box it was in . . .

Edited to add -
Then, of course (if memory serves), there were the True Levellers, and also the Diggers. Nothing's ever straightforward, is it?

No - not at all. I can't think of anything else that's happening around then. It's merely a passage of time which could do with a bit of enlivening. After all, there's no Budget and "Brexit" should all be sorted out.

"From top sprinter to homeless in London – what happened next to Jimmy Thoronka?"
the Home Office determination to prosecute the case as hard as it could, despite knowing of Jimmy’s traumatised state, significantly prolonged the agony. The fact that the government’s initial refusal of his case triggered hospitalisation and a suicide watch was no deterrent. What appeared to matter far more was sending tough messages about migration to swing voters: that this government is not so much robust as positively steel-capped

We failed to realise until f*****g Friday afternoon what we were heading into
We were trapped for over one half hour in a coach stopped dead in traffic less than a mile from the ROH with no way out and the radio broadcasting the wedding live on the intercom
We were alternatively serenaded and harassed by intoxicated sport enthusiasts enjoying the sun and game outside the pub during the traffic hold up
