It rather angered me this morning to hear some government flunky claiming a no deal Brexit wouldn't lead to empty supermarkets and the like.

He suggested such claims were 'irresponsible scaremongering'.

This very year all it took was a few days of unseasonable snow and supermarkets were empty in Scotland. Volunteers had to drive with food out to the elderly and others who needed it.

Crashing out of the EU without a deal will be far worse and longer lasting than a bit of snow.
