19/ What this means is Trump is about to meet with the mastermind of Russia's attack on us and has called that meeting "easy"—already offering up *concessions* to that mastermind without asking anything in return. He's also made preparations to have much of their talk be secret.

20/ Trump is having this secret chat with the mastermind of the Russian conspiracy against the U.S.—which conspiracy is now confirmed in public filings by DOJ—at a time when either he or agents of his or both may well be the unindicted co-conspirators in the Mueller indictments.

When DLA was first introduced,I fell out with many colleagues and their view they could get drinks/meals etc paid for "because that is what it is for",not unless the receivers chose to it isn't,similarly "friends" of DLA mobility receivers gave lifts etc on the same basis.Care workers are no more/less capable of "seizing an opportunity" than anybody else, contrary to the you get what you pay for in wages/salariesy terms not in my experience I saw no relationship and don't get me started on trips in essence for the staff, though a duty free visit to France backfired when it was announced on arrival that the hypermarket was shut.

Crace /special-relationship-trump-and-mays-is-almost-pathological-

"" Trump, though, had barely got warmed up. The Sun interview had been lies. “Fake news,” he spat. The things he had said about Theresa being completely hopeless and Britain having no chance of a trade deal with the US were obviously made up because he hadn’t said them after all even though there was tape of him saying them. There was nothing he said that he didn’t reserve the right to later contradict. The US press corps didn’t bat an eyelid on this. The president’s instability has long since been factored in. The Brits couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Or their luck.""

No wonder he so admires BoJo - the two aren't just peas in a pod because of their (fake) hair.

Abramson's follow up thread is underway, explaining how it appears all but certain that these indictments should lead to D Trump jnr's indictment on conspiracy against America charges.

I haven't even tried to look at the story, but this headline from Charles Moore in the Telegraph just, literally, made me hoot out loud with laughter.
Donald Trump yells truth to power, no matter who he offends. It has its uses

Has Donald Trump's endorsement of Boris Johnson done him (BJ) more harm than good given that we've now been treated first-hand to Donald Trump's rather peculiar relationship with the truth (and with most other normal behaviour)? I tend to think that Boris Johnson is rather a busted flush, in any case, but this episode surely can't have improved his image. Or will he take up golf?

Novichok seems to be the thing of the moment (apart from endless interviews with Nigel Farage), I see.

In other news, sufficient rain today that the firefighters on the moors are all able to go home tonight.

Even after these blazes are superficially "out" the peat keeps burning underground. Many thanks to all the fire service and army staff - what gruelling work.

MoD property deal 'could cost taxpayer up to £5bn'

In a report released on Friday, MPs said the £1.66bn single payment deal with Annington Property Ltd, which was approved by John Major’s Conservative government in 1996, was “appalling”. (Guardian)
I think we've known this all along, but it's now resurfaced.
