Still think it dubious No.10 using HMRC information (ie."business")for personalised targeted party political purposes.Though thousands of "business",start ups etc aren't really businesses as such.((Direct Payment/Personal budget)

Even Laura K is openly mocking the Government.
In a nutshell, to avoid a rebellion by the Mogg faction, she's caved on some amendments and provoked a new rebellion on her other flank.

What will it take for the Remain Tories to actually break cover and vote May down?
Re: Monday 16th July 2018
May said at Chequers that if they didn't accept her proposals the pro-remain rebels would force through a customs union amendment.
So they kind of have to rebel, really, if they want May to be as good as her word.
If the ERG amendments stand, we're back to square one with May having nothing credible to go to the EU with on the Irish Border issue and that means no deal. At least that's how it's looking if Faisal Islam in correct in his interpretation:

this is one of the Rees Mogg amendments accepted - it makes “unlawful” for HMRC to do what was official government policy as set out on Thursday and agreed at Chequers by Cabinet,
unless EU also collects tariffs for UK, which was not mentioned in either last week. Incredible.

If ERG amendment goes to a division. & it looks likely, we could see spectacular embarrassment for government: having surrendered to rebel Brexiters of ERG & adopted ERG amendments as its own, it would be amazing if those amendments were lost because of Tory Remainer rebellion!

All getting a bit complicated on the trade bill votes.
I'm assuming we're looking for a Tory pro-remain rebellion on the ERG amendments accepted by the government?
But they don't seem to be pressing for a customs union amendment and presumably won't support Labour's?

Un-f***ing-believable.The Commons is meant to start its summer recess on Tuesday next week. But, as HuffPost reports, there are rumours at Westminster, which are not being denied by people in government, that the government will bring it forward so that the recess starts on Thursday. MPs do know how to use phones, but plotting is always much more intense when they are gathered together in person in the House of Commons and, from the whips’ point of view, the best way to keep them out of trouble is to send them on holiday.

2 years DD was in that job and he really has learnt nothing at all.
Davis says he used to do business across the US/Canada border.
He says that border operates effectively for business, even though there are tariffs.
Davis says the most complicated border issue is in Ireland. But no British government, and no Irish government, would install a hard border there.

In the teeth of the expenses scandal, Nick Clegg proposed cancelling the summer recess because there was work to be done.
It was a silly idea, but looks like great statesmanship when compared with sacking-off-on-holiday-because-we-don’t-know-what-to-do

Labour rebels who prevented government defeat (3) were Hoey, Field & Stringer -
Great irony that only last week Rees Mogg was very disconcerted about the Government passing its Brexit on “socialist votes”
