Re: Friday 10th August 2018
Now that we’ve gone through the proposed UC Migration Regs - we can talk about some of our headline concerns:
1. Those on legacy (old) benefits will have to make a *new* claim for UC. They won’t be migrated by DWP.
2. Claimants will have to meet a new claim deadline.
3. The deadline can be extended to a max of 3 months if good reason is provided. This may be extended following a period of ‘test and learn’. Law Centre believes that the ‘test and learn’ approach is not appropriate when claimant welfare is at stake.
4.Claimants who don’t meet the deadline will lose their Transitional Protection (the difference between the level of legacy benefit + UC award).
5. A change of circumstance will disrupt payment of TP - e.g. if a couple split or if a member of a couple dies.
6. There appears to be no concession / exception to the ‘change of circumstance’ rule - e.g. victims of domestic violence will lose their TP upon leaving an abusive partner.
7. 36% of migrating claimants are ESA(IR) claimants - many of whom will require added support.
8. Additional support will be provided by contracted providers - their role hasn’t been defined yet despite DWP plans to commence migration in Jan 19.

Viewing the world in static binary terms. The irony of bemoanment of necessary inflexibility by the chancers rogues and outright gangsters of the DWP.

Reasonable expectation to work strangely enough doesn't conveniently conform to an (increasing) age limit.Only the targeted chosen for guinea pig experimentation for their own sakes.

Even attached to a syringe driver on a hospital bed more positively contributory than the architects could even aspire to.

Because the press and politicians in this country are always fair. One MP who supports Johnson, Andrew Bridgen, said “Boris was just starting a debate” and I’m sure he’d take exactly the same attitude if John McDonnell said “Jews look like they’ve got a pancake on their head.”
