DWP figures provide fresh evidence to explain PIP claim rejections
This week, DWP produced those figures, which show that of a random sample of 100 Capita reports, 94 PIP decisions were made without any further contact at all with the company.
And of 100 Atos reports, 97 decisions were made without any further contact with the company once DWP had received the assessment report.

We like to mock Trump, but Britain’s Russia stance is even worse Jonathan Freedland
"""" Given that Banks has never explained the precise source of the £9m he gave to the Brexit campaign – the largest single donation in UK political history – the fact that the Russians lavished such preferential attention on him requires explanation, starting with: what exactly did they expect in return?
That Russia was ready to do its bit to make Brexit happen is already well-established. We have had for nearly a year the documented proof that the Kremlin ran a social media campaign through the Internet Research Agency, its troll farm in St Petersburg, using more than 400 fake Twitter accounts to push for a British exit from the EU. Actually for much of that war the Occupation where I live was easier under the Germans than that of the West Bank Palestinians under the Israelis. Logical enough, because people were not being thrown off their land to be replaced by colonists. In the East it was of course a completely different story.

What I'm missing there is what proportion of Atos/Capita decisions are appealed ?

Jim Murphy went to great lengths to keep Rhea Wolfson - who is Jewish - off last year's NEC ballot.
He was ultimately about as successful as in his efforts to win seats for SLab in the 2015 GE.

"""As for the anti-Semitism row currently roiling Labour, Jackson said, “Jeremy Corbyn is not a racist, and I don’t believe he is anti-Semitic. What he is is pro-Palestinian. That presumably is where the conflict comes from, and whatever has been misread and misinterpreted.”
Jackson said she too had experienced “serious criticism” from Jewish organizations because of her own criticism of the Israeli government.
However, she recognizes the present rise of anti-Semitism: she recalled Jewish constituents in 2015 saying they were thinking of leaving Britain. “I don't know where it’s come from, but no one seems able to handle it. Do we never learn? Dear God, it’s scandalous.”
Jackson said she had never met an anti-Semitic Labour Party member, but that the leadership should look into the issue and take appropriate action.
“Our electoral chances were pretty slim even without this. It certainly doesn't help.”
Jackson doesn’t know who the party base is now – “That absolutely working class vote. Where is the working class vote now?” So, Corbyn isn’t an election-winning leader for her? “No, we’re not going to win, but then are they? (Theresa May’s Conservative party ... """

The one from 2011 where she stands up to jewish constituents --
"" The MP dug her heels in when asked by a Birmingham student about hate speech on campus. The student was distressed by the comments made at Birmingham Palestine Society by a visiting speaker, Mike Prysner, who compared Israel's actions with the Holocaust. But Ms Jackson was unmoved. Free speech on campus was "precious", she said, adding: "I don't think that is hate speech, I think it's stupid and insensitive if someone does that. But it isn't hate speech. If people do preach hate on campus there are laws to prevent that."
She said she had met Manchester University students during a lobby of Parliament. "They argued that everyone speaking on campus should have their speech vetted. I couldn't believe it. You cannot do that." ""

Focaldata? Does anyone here know anything about them, please? I'd never heard of them before now.More than 100 seats that backed Brexit now want to stay in EU
Major new analysis shows most constituencies now have majority who want to Remain
The analysis [by Focaldata], one of the most comprehensive assessments of Brexit sentiment since the referendum, suggests the shift has been driven by doubts among Labour voters who backed Leave.
As a result, the trend is starkest in the north of England and Wales – Labour heartlands in which Brexit sentiment appears to be changing. The development will heap further pressure on Jeremy Corbyn to soften the party’s opposition to reconsidering Britain’s EU departure. (Observer - my emphasis)

Afternoon all.
Not much seems to have happened, politically speaking, while I was away. Westminster seems a long way away sitting among the sand dunes on Anglesey or taking a leisurely walk along the Miner's path to Mt Snowdon (not actually up Snowden, far too energetic, but we still got some fantastic views, nonetheless).
8 months til we leave the EU and virtually nothing is happening to prepare. May needs to get some kind of withdrawal agreement or an extension of the article 50 period or we're stuffed, basically. I still see no real route to calling Brexit off or getting a second referendum bill through parliament. (Or, indeed, Tory MPs voting to dissolve parliament and give Labour a go at it). So our fate pretty much lies in Theresa May's hands, holding back leadership challenges and facing down the hardline Brexiters in her party. Not looking very hopeful, is it?
Might just run away to here and hide, if it all goes pear shaped:

Some of my misspent youth was spent charging around Snowdonia... 'sleeping' under a groundsheet. In winter .
Reading Hindle's post just before yours, get ready to run away !

""" I do hope someone is going to ask Corbyn whose graves he was referring to if not the three “martyrs” and Atef Bseiso. Because the photos published in the Mail together with Corbyn’s own account clearly suggest he did help lay a wreath and pray at the grave of men who were closely involved in planning and executing the Munich massacre. And that really should be a resigning matter."""HindleA wrote:
