Keir Starmer tells @BBCr4today that if parliament votes down Theresa May’s #brexit deal then ‘all options should be on the table’ -that includes a ‘people’s vote’ ie a referendum. very different from Barry Gardiner’s denunciation of the whole idea of a new referendum

Labour's policy has never been to rule out a second vote IIRC.
It can be argued that Gardiner was just pointing out the dangers of pressing ahead with one without genuine public backing for it. In his own special way

No deal means, in all likelihood, chaos and shortages (and that's the least of it). And all the Government can say is "we're ready for it". Who's this "we"?

Don’t kid yourselves, Democrats. Trump’s final hour is not upon us Ian Samuel
“” If Democrats clean up their act and appeal to the working class again, that would be far more threatening to Trump than the Mueller investigation ever could be
While it is surely to the good to bag a few swamp creatures, whether it places Trump’s presidency in any actual danger is a much different question””

Good thread too . Probably a loooooong way to go, the swamp of lobbyists and paid-for politicians remains intact .

Well, the Corbyn proposals on media reform got the expected response from the usual suspects.
Though a special prize has to go to (you guessed it) DFH, who managed to equate social class "monitoring" with the initial stages of the Rwandan Genocide.
At least that particular bit of derangement is original, I suppose

Not new, but to keep in mind .
The Trump team is running a disinformation campaign about Russian interference
""Most of the headlines from Vice President Pence's cybersecurity speech Tuesday focused on how he clearly enunciated what President Trump won't: that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. And he did.""
But then he reused to admit it had made a difference!
One guess as to why they'd do that

Anyway here's one for us nighthawks.
How sleep loss may contribute to adverse weight gain
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2 ... 095946.htm
Basically it says insomniacs and night shift workers will put on fat rather than gain muscle because our circadian rythms are screwed up.
Which, as an insomniac who does a lot of exercise, is really fucking annoying.
