Looking at ‘possibilities’ on Toady, Hammond mentioned “no brexit” . Are they taking it in turns to slip it into the national consciousness ? Tsk , obviously not! Consciously .
Fascinating that this ex-Legatum, and currently IEA , character actually voted remain !

“Singham sees it differently, arguing that liberalised markets create opportunity and that free trade can restore faith in liberal democracy. ”
He’s right on this —
“If we can’t say to people ‘we can protect you from competition that is unfair’,” he says, “they will choose a protectionist, populist leader to protect them from everything. That is why they elected Donald Trump, I think. That is why populism in Europe is so strong. And arguably you could say that is part of the reason for the Brexit vote.”
The unrest here continues, an accurate depiction ( HT HindleA ) —

" Jess Phillips, chair of the women’s group of Labour MPs, said: “The government is not only failing to help the many women in work but is actually pushing those on low pay deeper into poverty. There should be proper impact assessments carried out which prevent them introducing policies which have such a devastating effect on so many, often single working women, and their children.”HindleA wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... ippr-study

A group of senior Tory MPs including five former Conservative cabinet ministers – David Davis, Justine Greening, Nicky Morgan, David Willetts and Iain Duncan Smith – are among those arguing that the benefit freeze is causing undue hardship. Morgan, now chair of the all-party treasury select committee, said: “There are now increases in public sector pay and there should be a link between benefits and wages. We always have to be wary as a party of being seen to know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.”
Did Hammond have any impact assessments ?

Point is "doing the right thing" is debatable,we were for us,but for the purposes of easy fit propaganda both angelic and sinners, responsible for the deficit and part of the long term economic plan at the same time. This transcends left/right,the particularity of reduction/paying back and much of the social care musings across the board present us as being unfair.

That was my first reaction; Tory government's latest configuration will do anything protecting their leadership role. That's what they do. But I've thought more on their ruthlessly holding onto power. It only works if all act as a purely rational and single entity. Individually, they're not immune from anger and/or fear prompting a move bringing down their government.

Not only are payments late or nonexistent, they're inadequate. Tory government knows their policy choices cause needless suffering for their compatriots.Volunteers have told the Observer they are concerned about how their communities will cope this winter. In areas where the new benefit has been in place for months, the pressure on food banks has increased. Under the new system, people are made to wait for over a month to receive the benefit.
The Trussell Trust, which operates 428 food banks, reported in April that its facilities were four times busier in areas where the new credit had been in place for 12 months or more compared with those where it had been introduced more recently.

You can be an intentional fascist and enact knoweable harm with no remedy to offset-as with all benefit reforms the work thing is irrelevantt, very much the minority are jobseekers, only half of which ever claimed anyway or an ignorant fuckwit -I have much ire by the way for at best naive charities and left giving succour to the everybody agreed line .Fundamentally flawed as a concept, far from trapping it freed.
Re: Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th November 2018
Some influential people possess a cloaking capacity. They're free from relentless news coverage others have no choice but tolerate. Some enjoy and profit from the spotlight. News headlines are chosen. Sometimes environmental and other disasters affecting many and too large to bury force their way into attention; not always. The amount of time a tragedy receives mainstream media attention, how it's reported and on what page is chosen by no democratically accountable source.

I'm still wondering if anyone will attempt to use the obvious leverage of helping May to get her deal through Parliament in return for making the political declaration somewhat "softer". Rumours of the Libdems filling the DUP void add to such speculation. Labour appear to be sticking to their guns on voting May's deal down but what about a reformed deal? Who knows. Rejecting it remains a leap into the dark. Forcing either a GE or referendum is not straightforward, that much is clear.

Not unreasonable for Labour to offer to support an "improved" deal *after* this one is voted down, surely? Indeed, that seems the entirely rational way of looking at it.

Re: Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th November 2018
It's very common for buy-to-let mortgages to come with restrictions on renting to people on benefits. It's a huge problem. It's part of how banking is no longer serving society in the way it shoud, just as much as it illustrates the need for secure long term rental agreements, social housing and council housing. When so many renters are paying mortgages for landlords who don't even own the homes they are renting out, something is going very wrong. The landlord above with no real control of his property and how it's rented out is yet another symptom of our failing and corrupt banking system.frog222 wrote:" A landlord with a NatWest mortgage was last month refused a remortgage, and was threatened with the revocation of their existing mortgage because they were letting to a tenant, a vulnerable older woman, in receipt of housing benefit.HindleA wrote:https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/201 ... ssion=true

Ministers' promises coming to absolutely nothing, no reckoning, no accountability when falling apart, serving up similar promises just calling them something else ending in more nothing, May's lies, using misleading terminology from the beginning of her premiership deliberately confusing what the hell is going on now, what's the House being asked to vote on? What does it mean for people and country? What's it purpose? Does it bind future Parliaments?Willow904 wrote:http://chrisgreybrexitblog.blogspot.com ... ation.html
