As both the article Adam linked and Brown's re TV licence reiterates any means testing harms the very people that need it most;that being the case,I suggest,any such bemoanment advocation clearly reveals that you don't actually give a toss about such consequences and it really about something else.

Morning all.

Guardian front page led with that story about fracking which was posted yesterday afternoon.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... ot-welcome" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The interesting bit is that it's not only Labour councils getting twitchy over something that's happening in their area...
Many Conservatives are also opposed. In Westminster, almost two dozen Tory MPs are reported to be against fracking and willing to “destroy the government’s majority” if it tries to weaken planning laws.

Several Tory-run local authorities – including Derby, Dorset and Nottinghamshire – are fiercely opposed to the change in planning proposals, which would mean companies could drill test sites without applying for planning permission.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Long distances are like life,don't look too far ahead,steady pace,ups and downs,better/worse,dig deep/don't get carried away,get there in the end,shared endeavour both improves performance and experience but above all what I find helpful is the imagining of every step being on a Tory head.

Of course her officials - her chief of staff Gavin Barwell, the cabinet secretary, Mark Sedwill - are working on contingency plans for what should happen if (when) the vote is lost. That is their duty.
But they too have no idea whether the PM will actually do what they suggest, as and when the time comes. In the words of one of their colleagues “they are in a silo, and the PM is outside the silo in one of her own”.
Is 'silo' being used as a politically correct alternative to 'bunker'?
