F.Ryan was on Women's Hour discussing the book. The DWP.as ever knowingly lying about 'we spend billion on benefits",unquestioned.Of course there is a reason as to why they have kept to this lie as the "for balance" listener irrelevant tosh about children's DLA showed @46 m. and how the benefit system needed reform.Far easier.to enact pernicious policy by such diversion.

Interesting in that the Welsh government rather reflects my views. I was willing to support a proper "soft" Brexit but opinion in the country has continued to polarize to the extremes, leaving a middle ground consensus virtually impossible to pursue, at least from outside the UK government. We are all left, therefore, with little choice but to choose a side, between remain and hard Brexit.Welsh Government will now campaign to remain in the European Union

Dear Mr President. The NHS isn’t on the table in trade talks - and never will be. Not on my watch.
If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Weak governments like extremes and warWillow904 wrote:https://www.itv.com/news/wales/2019-06- ... ean-union/Interesting in that the Welsh government rather reflects my views. I'm referring to Westminster, not Welsh government

And "sour" is indeed an appropriate adjective there.

I see Mike Gapes is a stalinist. (He's cropped Chuka and Wollaston out of the photo on his twitter profile.)

Talking of Stalinism, today is the 30th anniversary of "Tank Man".
Given that nobody is sure who they were or what happened to them, that he is still remembered is all the more telling.

Just noticed that's two days old but not sure we've done it and I know it's of interest to friends here. Sorry if I missed it!
Re: Wednesday 5th June 2019
I don't know the 'Tory peer/polling expert', Robert Hayward.
'Transfer-friendly' apparently means the following...Conservative peer and polling expert Robert Hayward...
After analysing a slew of recent polls on the parties and candidates, Hayward said a new Tory leader would not win a general election unless they were “transfer-friendly”.
The following is interesting.“A Tory prime minister or leader can’t win without Brexiteers; but you actually can’t win without the people who don’t strongly identify with one side or the other, and are looking for good government,” he said.
This suggests tough navigating for any party.Polling suggests the electorate is roughly divided into thirds, according to Hayward’s analysis, with one-third identifying as remain, one third as pro-Brexit, and the rest who could be won over by a “transfer-friendly” leader from either side.
