The worst thing, and why I haven't linked it, is the pile on of folk agreeing with him.
Thankfully interspersed on occasion with rational folk pointing out that nobody much is saying Priti Patel shouldn't be a minister per se, it's just that she's done some bad stuff. Whereas Meghan is accused of what exactly?

There's a gap in the market for politicians who throw ideology in the bin, give the culture war a swerve and just get on with doing the job. At the moment Matt Hancock is filling it.

Apologies for the non-appearance of the local byelection review thus far - as it happens there are (unusually) no principal level contests this week so I have a bit more leeway to get it done. And it will appear at some point

Not sure exactly how that works/will work,we got a budget ,nominally part based on personal care but given the whole basis is that it is for the receiver to decide and in practice the employee did very little in that regard.ie how the fart you separate in that scenario I have no idea before you get to the risk of actual loss for some

IE how does it work in direct payment/personal budget situations ,what part is deemed "free" and/or would it have made any difference if the rest is chargeable.

Shocked by this I heard on our local news today.
jailed for three yearsMan jailed for drunken shove that led to partner's death
A man who shoved his partner during a drunken row at their Lake District home, causing a fatal head injury, has been jailed for three years by a judge at Carlisle Crown Court.
Patrick Webster

Katrina Fletcher, 64, fell on to a bedroom cabinet at the flat she shared with Patrick Webster, 62, in St Kentigern’s Close, Keswick, and suffered a brain injury from which she died two weeks later.
Prosecutor Francis McEntee said the couple were known locally to be heavy drinkers who often argued, and Webster had two previous convictions for assaulting Miss Fletcher.
Webster, whose latest address was in Walker Road, Aberdeen, had denied manslaughter but changed his plea to guilty just before the trial.
Colin Aylott QC, mitigating, said Webster knew he had lost "the person he loved most in the world" as a result of his own stupidity.
' You must live for the rest of your life with the fact that you have caused her death." from Judge Peter Davies, passing sentence.
Three-year jail term shocks domestic violence charity
A three-year jail sentence for a man who killed his partner during a drunken argument at their home in Keswick has been criticised by a charity that supports victims of domestic violence.
Patrick Webster, 62, pushed Katrina Fletcher, who fell over, causing a head injury that from which she died later in hospital.
Jo Cook, from the domestic violence support charity, The Freedom Project West Cumbria, says the length of his sentence sends out the wrong message:
'I think her family very clearly stated that they didn't feel like it had been justice and I think anyone reading the facts of the case would be quite shocked at what the outcome of the case has been."
