People who run stuff, deliver stuff & pay salaries that pay mortgages are being told to suck up the self-harm without any costed or cogent explanation of what benefit it will bring. /7

Morning all.
I see that the "Friends of PP" have sent a letter to the Telegraph saying that actually she's a lovely person and there's nothing in the allegations.
They appear to be "colleagues" or people who she would have come into contact with at meetings etc which misses the point somewhat since it's the people who work for her that is at issue here.

If I'm not here, then I'll be in the library. Or the other library.

Anybody remember Burnham's attempt to do this a decade ago, and the Tory "DEATH TAX!!!!" response?

Absolutely no one has to sell their home for care when alive
Contra to the propaganda the stipulations concerning liability to pay for fees are not only based on means test/assets.
and as ever the ignoring of half of receivers and what should be the purpose of social care.

Indeed as I boringly state they in effect introduced a death tax in what was our situation by replacing a recognition of housing costs for home owners (equivalent to half way to one dialysis session a week but not back) as income by repayable interest bearing loan with charges ,regardless if on JSA(which was time limited in any case).not expected to work inability to move etc.

The financial impact on taxpayers is far heavier by not investing in cost saving activities or indeed actively penalising.
Re: Friday 6th March 2020
Tories don't care about that. The more their bad policies cost, the better. I base that on their record over the last decade.HindleA wrote:The financial impact on taxpayers is far heavier by not investing in cost saving activities or indeed actively penalising.

The DWPesque setting up of taxpayers versus others "kindlier" language (but only a tad) still essentially framed the same way.

The distance between Spiked and the right wing of the Tory Party is less than the width of a fag paper these days...
You could argue that this is just their libertarian streak as per usual but this is what Brexit is all about to them.spiked

The left is accused of lack of aspiration, the extent of Hancock's for the sick/disabled is not being unduly at risk and holding onto an asset for descendants within a framework of sustainability and subject to restraints.

Always uneasy about claims places/groups should just be "abandoned", but that the demographics of those likeliest to vote Labour are changing is just incontrovertible fact. To hear some, you would think such a thing had never happened before.HindleA wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/com ... emographic
