Corona virus spread: where does the responsibility lie for it having got to this stage and can we (ffs) start holding global governance to account?

Johnson's 'starkest warning to the nation yet about what is coming'.
In the Sunday Telegraph.
Too busy writing that to turn up for the official press conference.
Don't visit your mother. Of course everyone reads the Sunday Telegraph before they go out.

1) where did it start?
2) how did it behave vis a vis animal-human-human infection?
3) what fatalities arose?
4) given SARS and MERS what were the MASSIVE OBVIOUS DIFFERENCES IN TERMS OF INTERSPECIES* TRANSMISSION?
5) Given 4) above, how come international meetings and travel were not spotted in DECEMBER?

*Yeah sorry and once in human populations INTRA

should add this Downing Street spokesman reaction:

“This is a highly defamatory fabrication which was not put to No10 by the Sunday Times before publication. The article also includes a series of apparent quotes from meetings which are invented.”

'Disaster waiting to happen': visitors flock to Skegness

Scottish government 'furious' at travellers to Highlands and Islands

There was a similar one about Cornwall last week.

I think Norway have banned people from going to their country cabins.

It occurred to me yesterday that living on a Scottish island might not keep my sister & BIL away from the virus, half the houses are second homes.
We're not going to Whitby however nice the weather is.

We’re now prioritising calls for vulnerable customers.
There's nothing in the rest of the e-mail that explains how they know which customers are "vulnerable ".

Even the massive economic package for workers and businesses eventually delivered by Sunak on Friday is not complete. There is a growing Tory backbench rebellion on the lack of measures aimed at self-employed people. MPs expect Sunak to have to “go further” once again next week to protect the self-employed.
People jeering at John McDonnell for saying exactly this the other day need to take a good hard look at themselves...

I suspect that at some point the EU will say to us...
Three options, no discussion

1. Defer - lets say another year for the moment and wait and see (preferred option)
2. Deal on very close association terms, regulatory harmonisation, ECJ, wide ranging FTA
3. Nothing, you just leave.

Choose.

Reminds me a bit after the riots when he (finally, after he got back from hols) went to see what went on.

‘Corbynism without Corbyn’ will destroy Labour, says Wes Streeting

A Labour party that espouses “Corbynism without Corbyn” risks disappearing from the political map, a Labour MP has warned.

In a new pamphlet with the Fabian Society, Wes Streeting, an MP on the right of the party who has been a persistent critic of Jeremy Corbyn, urges the party to leave the current leader’s legacy behind to give it a chance of regaining mainstream public support. (Observer)
What? Now?

Well, there's someone who doesn't know what's going on - or when to give up, or shut up.

I thought self isolation would reasonably simple. I've been out shopping, of course I have, but it would be better if I didn't.
Priority for our existing customers

We're very sorry but due to the exceptionally high level of demand we are temporarily prioritising deliveries for our existing customers. As a result, we are unable to offer you a delivery slot at the moment. Unfortunately, new customer bookings will not be processed.

We apologise for any disappointment. We are working hard to increase our delivery capacity and we will contact you as soon as the situation changes. Thank you for considering Ocado.
I'll try the others but I'm expecting similar responses.

All due to human idiocy and selfishness - and not to a virus.
