No, not worse than I thought. About as bad as I knew it could be. Careless dilettantes creating frightful, disconnected policies, vicious conduct towards others while underfunding public services we got ourselves some quintessential Tory government. We're up a tree, people, good luck.

Why haven't the government done a push message to all mobiles in the country? They've done it all across the continent.

I despise a government forcing reliance on voluntary activity and on volunteer services.
God damn charity and patchy hit-or-miss service provision

Rees-Mogg couldn't figure it out and no one wanted to make him feel bad by rolling it out so hundreds of thousands of people will die instead

It took me much longer, of course. For an obvious reason . . .

Universal Credit will not be able to cope or deliver

Universal Credit is going to wilt under the pressure of new unemployed applicants in the coming weeks and months. Other than a minor improvement in levels of income support, no support has been announced for those outside of formal employment, unemployed persons, those receiving personal independence payment, or others without a current employer such as university students. For these people, immediate removal of means-testing from current social security payments should be introduced as a matter of urgency.

Government ignored advice to set up UK emergency alert system

Failure to follow up on trials mean there is no ability to send coronavirus advice to mobiles (Guardian)

Doctors who are among those stranded overseas have said they are desperate to return to help their NHS colleagues battle the coronavirus outbreak, but that they have received little help from the Foreign Office (FCO).

Travel restrictions around the globe have left an estimated 1 million British people marooned, with many complaining that their host countries have organised rescue flights for their citizens but the UK has not.

I know! I can't believe this. I've no problem toughing something out with a plan, clear guidance. Enduring difficulty needs plans and clear guidance. Non-essential stores closed. It's not most people having trouble with lock down, it's multiple home owning corporate spivs declaring the essentialness of their activities, taking supplies from people living in a place all the time and playing with sales staffs' lives creating problems.
