Exactly, I thought that was apparent at the time and yet the best they could come up with to explain away driving his wife and kid to a nice place on her birthday was testing his eyesight. That's what made it so offensive, the lie was so utterly, insultingly preposterous. If he'd simply said 'Ok mea culpa, I drove my wife and kid somewhere nice on her birthday, I'm sorry' I think he'd have got a fair amount of sympathy. But this lot are so fanatically intent on never admitting to even the tiniest of mistakes he couldn't do it and is now a figure of scorn and ridicule. The once mighty mysterious svengali is now a laughing stock. And that will never go away, it's with him for life.
As is editing his blog to make himself appear prescient.
It's little wonder he's avoided the limelight up until now because as soon as it shone on him his mystique went up in flames and what has been revealed is a second rate pseudo-intellectual with all the appeal of a moist tissue left on a bus seat. He's a busted flush and johnson is welcome to him.
