Good morfternoon.

I'm listening to Matt Hancock in the Commons. He's just made an interesting Freudian slip-of-the-tongue. In the course of his paean of praise for Deloitte, he referred to them as "De Loot".

Irrational as it may be, I feel mortified by this news. I didn't vote for Brexit or for Tory government. I don't know why I should feel shame but I do.

Well this is very sad. I'm afraid my namesake, the mighty willow tree that has graced the view from my sitting room window since I moved in over 15 years ago is currently in the process of being brutally hacked down by a couple of hard-hatted, high-vis jacket wearing vandals.

No, philistine neighbour thing. Probably need to make room for an RV/white van. (Though to be fair I wouldn't want a willow that close to my foundations either - it was always a bit of an inappropriate choice for the small front lawn of a 1970s semi miles from the nearest river, if I'm completely honest).

I still don't understand how it's okay for workers unmasked in unventilated rooms for hours at a time, people coming and going, students and teachers spending hours in unventilated classrooms and crowded public transportation but seven people from different households in an outdoor garden, for example, is finable £10K

I certainly agree when whole year groups are sent home to isolate for two weeks. I wasn't really expecting any work set for my daughter while she waited for her test result though (negative, btw, I just got the e-mail). She was feeling poorly, after all, so would have missed some school anyway.

Probably because people are coming up with rules independently of each other and nobody is looking at the consistency or whether they make sense in their entirety.
