Did everyone see the jaw-dropping video that Trump tweeted out yesterday?

The Americans have a wonderful descriptive noun that seems made for moments like these. Donald Trump really is a complete and utter asshat.

What did
@BorisJohnson
’s government do?

Nothing.

Like Trump, it pretended the problem didn’t exist.

And the Court backlog grew even longer.

Lawyers begged the government to pay for more courts and alternative venues to open.

@BorisJohnson
refused to make money available.

Boris Johnson's tone-deaf lies fall flat as UK grows up
John Crace
I think the "I've got no one here to clap me" bit was supposed to be funny but it really didn't come off, it just exposed the fact that he had nothing of substance to say, just pointless gags. No one's laughing.

Even the BBC questioned the lack of anything to say about the end of furlough and imminent jobs crisis. The wind energy "revolution" was rightly dismissed as something that has already begun, a direction of travel long since decided upon in most people's minds with only the Tories belatedly catching up with the idea of something everyone else had long assumed was happening anyway.

Leeds university: More than 550 coronavirus cases.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-54452773

Well done to the 5 Labour MPs who wrote a joint letter calling on the university to release these figures, up until now they'd only admitted to 6 cases amongst their students and staff.

https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/ ... es-2990081

As for Leeds' Conservative MPs their silence has been deafening. The infection rate trebled in a week and we haven't heard a peep from them. Judging from Anrea Jenkyn's Twitter she's been more concerned about praying for Trump.

Having checked the good old Coronavirus cases map I can confirm that Starmer was quite correct to point out that there are areas in Johnson's own Uxbridge constituency that have higher infection rates than vast swathes of the North that are locked down. You're far more likely to catch Covid 19 in Uxbridge and Ruislip than you are in rural North Yorkshire, Cumbria or Northumberland. I was happy to go out for a drink in Northumberland but you wouldn't catch me in a pub in Uxbridge. But then that's mainly because it would be full of twats.

"When it came down to it the choice was between Liam Fox, a dead squirrel with one of its back legs missing and a dessicated cat turd that we found under the bed. After some deliberation and experimenting with pipe cleaners we found a puppet made from the dead squirrel with the turd replacing its missing leg to be a more credible candidate than Mr Fox so I'd like to introduce you to the new head of the WTO, Mr Bushy Tail Poo Leg Nutkins."

Well, it is actually a bit of a shock to think that a rules-based organisation which insists on countries obeying international law, didn't think much of a candidate coming from a country which openly said that they would refuse to abide by international law.

Is it too early to say that Eddie Van Halen inspired lots and lots of guitarists to play the guitar really, really badly?

And no "after Eruption everyone wanted to play like him" really isn't true at all.

Well quite, I think it would be obtuse not to concede that played a part in Bushy Tail Poo Leg Nutkins victory.

It's almost as if a country acting like a complete dick has ramafications if it's not big and powerful enough to throw its weight around.

Not at all, Eddie Van Halen was to the guitar what Rick Wakeman was to the synthesiser.

It's a holiday in Mongolia, it's tough kid but it hurts.

It's a holiday in Mongolia, don't forget to pack your Yurt.

I must admit it is quite amusing seeing some of the most egregious brexit headbangers being treated with outright disdain by Cummings now that they've outlived their usefulness.

And I can see why, there's no plausable deniability with idiots like Kawczynski, you can't have fools like him openly cavorting with the far right when you're trying to get away with your grand plan under the radar, it would be like a ninja trying to stealthily sneak into some Lord's palace with a crying baby under their arm.
