Good news about Nita Clarke, though it does raise the question of why she was ever proposed for such a role in the first place.

Question that came up in my latest YouGov survey - "how do you prefer to pronounce David Bowie's name?". Wonder what use they think *that* information can be put to

Sky TV news is reporting that the Speaker has announced that, owing to London now being Tier 2, from Saturday, the sale of alcohol will be banned in the House of Commons. (Sorry, I have no more details.)
Re: Thursday 15th October 2020
I've just stumbled across that information and ran as fast as I could back here to give my opinion. I strongly approve of the Speaker's action.PorFavor wrote:Sky TV news is reporting that the Speaker has announced that, owing to London now being Tier 2, from Saturday, the sale of alcohol will be banned in the House of Commons. Long before the pandemic I wrote that I didn't think it'd bother Tory government much if most of us fell off the face the earth.

I continue to reflect on maskgate and would be curious to see the venn diagram of people who consider having to wear a mask a violation of their privacy, and people who thought it was fine to ban burkas.

I would anticipate some overlap. But then again I don't see having to wear eg: clothes in public a violation of my privacy either. Which brings to mind a chap I once saw walking though a busy square in Barcelona wearing nothing but boots and rucksack.

His current work visa expires in December. Please read the entire article. I'm unable to summarise it adequately at the moment. His CV19 symptoms are unusual but not unprecedented. The family of an NHS consultant who has treated many patients during the coronavirus pandemic, and who is now critically ill with Covid himself, are facing removal from the UK.
