Listened to Toady and was also surprised her solutions were nothing but more 'planning'
She could at least have pointed out this from 2020 -
That is ONLY about managing Brexit, badly of course !

I can't remember which political crisis sparked the term omnishambles, but whatever it was pales into insignificance beside Brexit.

Cooper is pretty rubbish anyway, but even the better Labour people can't be fully honest about Brexit until they have actually won an election.
That's just how it is.

Labour Together:
IMO if labour put some serious effort into such an economic platform we could dump the culture war bollocks altogether.
Why tie yourself to playing the govt's game?
Here we go again with the 'legitimate concerns'. **** off.taking a firm line on societal and cultural issues - like crime and immigration – to address the legitimate concerns that people have. It also means developing an economic platform that makes a tangible difference to people’s jobs and local communities.

Clanger Eurovision reports 2:
Armenia's Brunette (though there may be more than one) brings us "Future Lover". I tried to give it the full benefit of the doubt, but in all honesty had to stop viewing half way through in the interests of my mental health. Brunette wears trousers that are both very long and absent at the sides. The song strings various words together such as books, movies and other Very Authentic Things, but to more or less no avail. While the general aesthetic is more Lene Lovich than Nina Hagen, the main themes here are basically very long hair and endless writhing.
Still nice to see dry ice having a come-back.
Was it fun? Less than no
Was it dancey? Not in any shape or form
What would Terry have said about it? One shudders to think

PS (see yesterday) the Ladybird Book of Hipsters amused me somewhat. Primarily the bacon and peppermint gin.

Having fought to make it unelectable in 2019.In Labour’s wilderness years, Labour Together fought to make the party electable again. In 2020, with Morgan McSweeney as Director, it united the party behind Keir Starmer’s leadership campaign. In the years since, Keir Starmer has reformed the party, placed the country’s interests at its heart, and put Labour on the path to power.

Tomorrow's Clangervision review brings Australia's Voyager with "Promise". It looks truly awful, but let's see. (Am just saying, rolled up jacket sleeves - very 80s.)

Being quite old, I can remember when Thatcher's govt reduced the top rate of income tax to 60%, which most people thought was quite sensible.
Lawson then reduced it to 40% which was bloody stupid and has led to the current situation of people on twice average earnings paying higher rate.
