Woke up to a 4am text message from Northern Power and no electricity . Briefly thought "ah ha, my hot water is gas!", then realised that they boiler still needs electricity to run.

Hoping that the electricity is on at work, so I can have my coffee.

On declaring a day of mourning.

In connection with the loss of our fellow countrymen during a special military operation, as a sign of deep sorrow and respect for the memory of the fallen heroes,

I ORDER:

1. Declare a three-day mourning period in the State Enterprise “City of Pokrovsk” on October 7, 8, and 9, 2025.

2. During the days of mourning, all city organizations and institutions are to cancel entertainment events and lower state flags.

3. In educational institutions, begin lessons with a minute of silence.

4. I reserve control over the execution of this order.

The reason for this is that the bodies of 200 dead soldiers have just been returned to the city of 10,000. That is 2% of the entire population. If you take in to account male/female and under 18 and over 60 it is about 10% of the military age male population... And this is just the latest batch.

I actually had a call from a real person, with an update. Power should be back about 11am.
