Re: Friday 10th October 2025
An early glance at twitter showed the usual anti-Zack slurs ! Will now have to read around, later, for more info, unless we have a late Sky Report .
First news this morning from USterritoryPR family was this G article --
I checked, and they DID escape last night !
Those great history professors of 20thC Eastern Europe and Stalinism Marci Shore and Tim Snyder , influenced strongly by their studies and the similarities to Trumpism , moved recently and are now SAFE at Duke Uni in Toronto ...
Re: Friday 10th October 2025
We at the now-disappeared Blairwatch gang diligently downloaded Craig's pirated FCO Uzbek torture telegrams, and NO it was nothing to do with Nick Robinson's 2006 'Blairwatch' , the thief !

( Down Memory Lane on a dysfunctioning Labour Party ...)
I parted company with him, particularly now when he's been doing some 'understanding' for Putin , but of course not as bad as the Mélenchon support for the swine .
Anyway , agreed on this --

Re: Friday 10th October 2025
The second mention of Professor Snyder today ,
Tyrannical Times ?
Tyrannical Times ?
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... nistrationAs Trump grows increasingly incoherent and emotionally labile, Miller grows more and more influential. He is the president’s brain, his discipline. Where Trump has no guiding principles, Miller is a resolute ideologue of white, western supremacy and a tactician of final solutions. Trump is easily lampooned, but Miller is the grimmest of reapers.
Timothy Snyder, the historian and author of the influential book On Tyranny, posted a video on his Substack, comparing Miller to Stalin. One thing he said is that Stalin gained power as Lenin’s health failed. Lenin’s leadership ran from 1917 to 1924, but he was incapacitated by strokes beginning in 1922. Stalin’s murderous reign lasted until 1953.
In Stephen Miller, we see that Maga will not simply end with Trump. We must keep our eyes on him, contest everything he does and says. Because – while this may be hard to fathom – if the US ends up with Miller as its dictator, we are in even deeper trouble than we are with Trump, and it could last a lot longer.
Re: Friday 10th October 2025
Stephen Miller is a member of the Glosser Family which escaped annihilation after the pioneering one arrived in the US in 1903 from Belarus and then paid the passages of others .
He is much detested by at least some of the family.

This is for sky, if they're looking in.
Mr gilsey spent his formative years in Berwick and I found a 1958 tourist brochure among his junk in the loft, thought sky might find the cover amusing.
I'm moving house soon, hence clearing out the loft.

Re: Friday 10th October 2025
Apparently Trump is more and more out of the loop, and those murders were ordered by Stephen Miller (of whom more above) and this, attempting a Hard Man Speech, and failing --

I first water-skiied in 1960, in the BVI, towed by Blondie Hasler .
My knees were immensely stronger then

PS bon courage with the clearing, can be such very hard emotional work ...
Re: Friday 10th October 2025
Thanks, but fortunately I'm not very emotional about 'things'. It is stressful just because there's so much, this is a relatively small bungalow but the loft and the garage are massive and he never threw anything away. Getting towards the end of it now.Frog222 wrote: Fri Oct 10, 2025 9:02 pm
