Morning !

"Less hot" = only 36 late afternoon here ... ! ( But 40 again tomorrow )

Hear on the radio that J Reynolds "never wanted to contest" ...

Bullshit on 'Business friendliness' from the Right continues ( Rocco Forte earlier on R4! Gosh, so predictable !)

These people are right --

"" They wrote: “The climate transition is one of the largest drivers of industrial job creation in the UK economy. The net zero economy generates output worth over £100bn and employs over a million workers. As the sector expands, these numbers will grow further. The workers driving the green transition need union representation, good wages and champions in government.”

Not great is it. After his appalling stint at the DWP I'd hoped never to hear of James Purnell again. He spent most of his time slagging off benefit claimants in The Sun and Mail.

Just walked to Tesco and back for supplies. Bloody hell. Even with my flat currently running at 28.6°it was a relief to get back in out of the sun. I can't imagine what it's like down South (or in France).

Apart from the top temperatures being more extreme, the same picture here as Sky's.

Kitchen was 27 but now going down as the uninsulated tiled floor slowly has an effect .

The more publicity you get for this, and similar, will it sway the Burnham machine even a bit ?

Thread debunking the daft Telegraph piece

I say daft but I've had a climate-change-denying visitor this afternoon who was making some of these arguments and I don't usually think of him as daft. I don't know where he gets it from because I know he doesn't do Facebook, or indeed any other social media, I got the impression his wife was biting her lip, she's actually a scientist, unlike him.

Peaked at 30C at 3pm here today, then a blessed easterly breeze developed and it dropped to 23-24 quite quickly, now 19.
