And now Musk has turned on Farage.

I like the 'bloke in America' :-)

He added: “I think we’ve been giving far too much oxygen and airtime to a bloke in America with a very loud megaphone, we will deliver justice for victims and their families.”
The Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse, which published its final report in 2022, described the sexual abuse of children as an “epidemic that leaves tens of thousands of victims in its poisonous wake”.

Led by Professor Alexis Jay, the inquiry looked into abuse by organised groups following multiple convictions of sexual offences against children across the UK between 2010-2014, including in Rotherham, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Rochdale and Bristol.

In November last year, Professor Jay said she felt “frustrated” that none of the probe’s 20 recommendations had been implemented more than two years after its conclusion.

I had to trudge through the snow earlier to buy a new mouse for my PC from Tesco because my previous one started going crazy yesterday doing random mad stuff. It was dangerous letting it anywhere near the internet.

I wonder if it was suffering from the same thing that's afflicting Musk.

That is a key reason why the media so dislikes Starmer.
Then again, people like McSweeny exist who hate anything remotely progressive or 'lefty'.

I'm no great fan of McSweeney, but he is actually quite critical of late period Blairism.

Got to have a good scrunch in the snow, Musk trolled Farage, United put up a decent fight at Anfield, and I still have a bottle of Chilean Merlot to open.

This is turning out to be a pleasant Sunday.

No snow here.... but I AM feeling revitalised after having the best part of a pint of blood transfused on Friday afternoon .

Somebody noticed my New Years Eve's evening blood test results and eventually went EEK on Thursday morning . The arrangement to do it locally fell through so they called me again at 9.30 on Friday morning , so I had to arrange a taxi for Friday midday at the Big City .

Nice chats with other outpatients on chemo drips for myelomas and many friendly nurses . I had been holding off reading Stanislav Aseyev's book for MANY months, for obvious reasons ....

Feeling like a normal human bean on Saturday and today, no need to crash out for 'siestas' and the breathlessness seems to be diminishing .

Elder daughter came with much news ! Both she and husband get more done when they work at distance, but she still likes the interactions and basically works 60% in the the office. Clever docs and physios maintain her MS and Long Covid at a certain distance .

Some news of her Ma who doesn't like water, preferring wine and beer, and is increasingly rotund , which didn't stop me getting an earful . I'm the virtuous one who stopped booze for THREE whole months to see if it affected my ferritin /iron levels ---- which it didn't . A distanced earful also from intern GD,, maximum one glass a week .

So am now finishing a tasty G&T double with a little cherry liqueur :-)

Here is a slightly exaggerated quote I came across the other day --

'' The Russian Empire has been expanding at fifty square miles a day for 400years "

Labour making the most of their media budget. This is weird and also very, VERY bad. Not to mention that this will most likely be made with stolen content, because that's what most AI is trained on.

Also, wouldn't it be better to actually employ real people to make this? What with being the fucking Labour Party!

Considering Starmer is a former DPP, should he not have contacts in the law profession to let him know in advance that this wouldn't be possible without additional lawyers? From the Graun:
But government sources and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) appeared to confirm this weekend the idea had in effect been put on ice, with consideration of how to tackle the backlog set to be folded instead into a wider review of courts policy being conducted by Sir Brian Leveson. It will make its initial recommendations in the spring.
A bit longer? From that, there is no guarantee it will happen at all.

An experiment in what? Making people violently sick?

You know what it actually is? It's a signal to the AI tech bros that Labour are on their side. They'll be getting tax breaks and access to UK based 'training data' (stolen content) sooner than you think.

To be fair I did quite fancy the bunny nurse, but yeah that's just freakin weird.

I must say it's great fun seeing the likes of Oakshott and Hartley-Brewer being mauled by their own side for not bowing to their new fascist god, while Farage has gone from anti-establishment hero to establishment bootlicker in the blink of an eye.

We all know the likes of Farage, Oakshott, or Hartley-Brewer wouldn't touch Yaxley-Lennon or his supporters with a shitty stick, they regard them as scum as much as we do but for different reasons, in their case mostly class. Their revolution doesn't involve pissed up chav cokeheads besides needing their support, they'd certainly never share a platform with them on an equal footing. They still want to be part of polite society and who would invite them to dinner parties if they were rubbing shoulders with football hooligans in piss stained Primark jogging pants? Out of the three of them I think Hartley-Brewer is the only one who could hold her own in a real working class pub though she'd soon want to be back sharing Chablis and pomegranate salmon with Belinda and Markus in that darling bistro in Knightsbridge.

And this is their problem, all of them, they've flirted with the far right for years, made a living out of treading that fine line, and now an insane fascist billionaire (who they all previously professed love for) has called them out and gone straight to the base they rely on yet despise. He's out populisted the populists and made them look like the bourgeois clowns they are.

We may be living in interesting times but at least it's entertaining.

Oh yeah and on a related note fair play to Streeting and Cooper for coming out in defence of Jess Phillips and calling out Musk today, credit where credit is due, especially from a pair who I had well down on the list to do it.

My happy Sunday ended up with me having to phone Por Favor in a nursing home to tell her her cat had been put down. Because as previously mentioned her family are a fucking useless toxic disaster. It went about as well as could be expected.

Not cool.
