I found the original site logo. I was going through my twitter DMs, to see if anything needed saving before I delete my account, and I found it in a message from PfY. If anyone's wondering, itβs North Haven on Fair Isle.

I turned User Registrations back on, about 2 hours ago. Had about 150 spambots try to create accounts since then. *sigh*

Can't say I enjoyed the rugby much this weekend.
Scotland were always going to struggle against Ireland but we didn't help ourselves by being shit in just about every single respect and what the hell were France playing at? It's fair to say England put in their best performance for probably years, especially as far as their discipline was concerned, but France should have been out of sight by half time. I've never seen anything like it. You know it's not your day when Dupont is fumbling the ball when he should have been scoring an easy try. I'd say they literally threw the game away but their kicking was awful as well. It was almost as bizarre as Italy going mad and almost self combusting against Wales in the last 5 minutes.

As for all the lefty feminists fawning over a rapist pussy grabber, I'm no fan of Supertanskiii but it's been heartening to see the huge amount of support this has received.

One solution would be to make registration admin approved only if you haven't already done that, but then you'll have to sift through mountains of shit every day looking for any new registrations which might actually be real. Another would be to ask an obscure registration question that could only be answered by grumpy middle aged British lefties.

Yeah, all new users require approval. I get a nice little notification about it:

What has helped, is blocking the email domains that are being used (except common ones, like hotmail, gmail etc). That has dramatically reduced the number. That number was in the 40s, earlier this afternoon.

It's not even 25 years ago. I've been thinking back and it would be 2010 when a friend of mine (let's call her Laura) was made redundant and used the money to take over a club in Leeds. She began hosting cabaret and burlesque nights which were so popular other clubs followed suit and in next to no time Leeds began having its own burlesque festival. I remember the police getting involved and insisting on setting up barriers around the entrances to the venues, which weren't to stop us deviants getting out but to stop arseholes getting in. It didn't always work but when dickheads did manage to gain entry and start shouting lewd brainless shit during an act it was always men (of shall we say a certain type) and they were always swiftly removed amidst much mockery and derisive cheering. I recall nothing other than a joyful and loving atmosphere. Although that might be because Laura was was selling half price drinks to her friends (I was knocking back G&T's for a quid) and she made a lot of friends while running that club until it eventually bankrupt her and cost her her house.
She's back on her feet now and happy with no regrets, last time I saw her she had a big handsome hunk in tow about ten years her junior. Sadly the cabaret/burlesque scene dwindled without her. I tried a couple of other venues in the aftermath but they were either full of students, hen parties, or the afformentioned dickheads. It wasn't the same.
So here's to Laura (raises glass of cheap Lidl merlot) and fuck the joyless censorious freaks trying to take us back 50 years because they're incapable of having fun.

Ok. How about the obscure lefty registration question? The problem is these bots are all trained using Chat GPT so they already know the answers to pretty much any question that can be looked up on Google. It would have to be something cunning. Or you could simply ask how many letters there are in a name, they're absolutely terrible at it, here's DeepSeek.
how many n's are there in Dennis Skinner
Let's count the number of 'n' letters in "Dennis Skinner":
Dennis
n
n
β 2 n's
Skinner
n
β 1 n
Total n's = 2 + 1 = 3
So, there are 3 n's in "Dennis Skinner."

are you sure
Let's double-check! I'll go through "Dennis Skinner" carefully:
Dennis
D
e
n (1)
n (2)
i
s
β 2 n's
Skinner
S
k
i
n (3)
n
e
r
β 1 n
Total n's = 2 + 1 = 3
Yes, I'm sure! There are 3 n's in "Dennis Skinner."
