North west of England endures a month’s worth of rain

Over the last two days parts of the North West of England have experienced around a month’s worth of rain, Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan says.

“There’s still probably likely to be further flooding across the course of the day, I’m expecting further issues this afternoon,” Mr Morgan said.

“We are potentially expecting the flood situation to get worse before it gets better.”

Honister Pass in Cumbria saw nearly 150mm of rain, while Rochdale had 77mm.

More than 130 flood warnings, meaning flooding is expected, are in place for England, 10 for Wales and 32 for Scotland.
Hope all's well chez AK.

"" Do they speak Russian in Transnistria?
Though dominated by Russian-speakers, around 40% of the population in Transnistria speak Moldovan, which is virtually identical to Romanian, as a first language.Oct 25, 2024 ""

Good evening.

This sob story about this single mother finding it difficult to pay her son's school fees takes on a slightly different slant when you find out she actually works part-time...at an academy. So what's wrong with him going there?

Its the Barclaygraph, they often seem determined to pick the least sympathetic "hardship cases" possible.

That private primary with ten in classes in "rural Aberdeen" should be easy to track down, seems too cheap to me ?

She's stuffed anyway as she's losing her present cheap flat !

Three of my grandchildren go back and forth between public and private, but as I've explained before it's a very different system !

You'd think the Kipper would be more incensed that someone apparently on benefits was wasting taxpayers money on a private school.
